5am flight ➡️ Houston ➡️ World Cup ⚽️ @portugal vs @teamcongo.rdc ➡️ Willis tearing up when @cristiano stepped on the pitch ➡️reunited with a family we met and quickly became friends with while in Barcelona ❤️ ➡️ swimming ➡️ unbelievable home cooked Middle Eastern food 🤌 ➡️ another 5am flight home.

New Palestine HS class of 2026, Nadiya did it! I could write a book about how much this girl has gone through to get where she is, but I’ll keep it simple, she kicked ass and got it done! I blinked and you’re 12, but before you were 12 you were 1 and somehow I see you as both. Tonight Willis asked if he could still lay in bed with me at 18 to talk about our day, and I realized no matter how big your personality gets, how independent you become, or how fast you grow into yourself… there’s still a part of you that just wants your mom.

You’ve always been larger than life — loud laughs, endless confidence, a heart too big for your chest — but tucked inside all of that is still my little boy. Happy 18th birthday to my cousin 🎉

Seeing Barcelona through Willis’ eyes feels like falling in love with the world all over again. Every bite he tries, every new word he learns, every soccer game with kids he’s never met… he turns it all into magic. The past week Willis attended the FC Barcelona Academy ⚽️ camp, if you are familiar with soccer/futbol you know how prestigious this camp is. To offset the cost I signed up to be a “host family” for some coaches. Oh boy did I not know what I was getting myself into! Saturday FIVE young men showed up and instantly became apart of our family! What I thought would be just being a place for them to sleep turned into one of the most wholesome weeks of all of our lives! Pablo, Axel, G, Junior, and Pablo are all from different parts of Spain and South America but attend college in the US. They jumped right into our crazy busy life and did it with a smile. We explored downtown, watched Game 7 at Fishers Ampitheater, went to a Fever game, swam, cooked out, and of course played soccer. Weston LOVED them and they played with him even after running camp during the day. Willis looked up to them and learned from them and got a glimpse how big this world is. This was such a blessing💙❤️⚽️

Willis was also recognized for “best attitude” for his age group and got a FCB flag that the guys signed and hung over his Real Madrid flag as a prank😄 by @brittm_coffey
