Baby turned 3 and I…turned my life in a different direction 😅😂❤️ Living in complete faith.
Been trying to figure out if I should do substack or medium, but I figured “imma do me” instead.

I was born to do hard things. I spent my life manipulating and working around the hard things because of what it required. It was really fear of inadequacy and also being alone.

A trailblazer doesn’t usually walk on paved roads, so I planted my feet in the soil of a garden. Change met me there 🦋🪴GOD met me there.

The last year and a half of my life has been very scary, but fear has kept me from so much. #ImDone

Shied away from cartwheels and diving because I was afraid to go head first. Determined to not let that fear stop me from diving in head first to things worth having. Definitely hit my head a few times🥹 but things worth dreaming are also worth trusting that it’ll all work out in due time. “Though it seems to tarry, wait for it” (Habbakuk 2:3)

I’ve felt a lot of fear, but I’m no longer hiding in the shadows expecting what I want to just come to me without doing the work.

To the roses in the world who bloomed and blossomed from the concrete, from conditions otherwise designed to kill you: God wants to plant you where you will be everything you were created to be. Check your roots.

Don’t be afraid to dream. While my eyes cannot see it all yet, it’s already here and on the way 💜 God’s rose touched down in Rose City #watchmebloom🌹 taken in Portland, Oregon by @brittneygray._

In January of this year, a month after a traumatic surgical mishaps, I literally heard a voice that was so foreign to me—telling me life was better without suffering. I was burdened with so much grief, especially losing my aunt. I spent every day for a month post-op in fear of dying, and then it, weirdly, turned into an obsession/fascination with death. I’d NEVER fantasized about death and at that point, I legit stopped and started looking for a psychiatrist. I knew enough to know that that wasn’t normal and I was not ok. I spent 8-9 months on an anti-depressant, and am now 3 months free and recovering on my own (with God, love, therapy, and a dope family and bomb friends). I truly believe if God had not led me to get myself some extensive help, I would NOT have survived all of the things of this year. Not sharing for pity, but sharing to help somebody:

Do whatever you need to do to fight for your life—even if it means medicine. I prayed AND took Zoloft in the am 🤷🏾‍♀️Be free from the stigma of mental illness... your life is worth fighting for. We are all survivors to have made it this far. Happy 2021, y’all! Wishing YOU the best ❤️
