Wednesday was a pretty cool day. Britton signed his National Letter of Intent to play D1 college football for the University of Idaho. We are so grateful to all of the schools that offered him an opportunity to play at the next level, but Idaho just fit. Britton loves Coach Ford and is excited to get to play for him, but even more so he is so grateful that Coach Ford is on board with serving God and is going to hold his scholarship until after his mission! From the time Britt was little, he wanted two things… to play football for the rest of his life and to be a missionary. Coach Ford is allowing him to do both! And Moscow fits Britt’s small town heart. There have been so many people that have helped Britt throughout his journey and each gave him a piece of who he is today. From flag football coaches including Jake Whitman and Brody Purser to a group of Buckeyes coaches in Joe Germaine, GMo Lane, Matt Chick, Scott Roit and Mark Riggs. He started working with Dan Manucci in 5th grade. From there he learned from 7s and early high school coaches- Brandon Babcock, Coach Hastings, Coach I, Bobby Newcombe and Bryson Lanza. After a really hard decision to transfer schools to ALA, he found coaches that really pushed him and elevated his football IQ. We will forever be grateful for everything that Max Hall taught Britt and the vision he had of what Britton could become. So many coaches helped develop him as a player and a person. Coach Rand has been his day 1- his very first QB coach and his final high school OC. As well as Coach Wink, Jake Rodriguez, Coach Nick, Travis Scott and Coach Edwards. And you are only as good of a football player as your strength and speed coaches. I am confident we have the best in Joel Anderson and Terrance Johnson! A bonus shoutout to my brother Tyson who was the best uncle ever. He came to every game, shared his experience, confidence and wisdom and even took him on some recruiting trips. It has been cool to hear Britton reflect on things he has picked up from each one of those listed above. Thank you to ALL of these men and everyone who has supported and/or taught Britt. Dear P-town,Thank you. Thank you for all of the joy that you have brought into my life for the last two years, for the unforgettable memories and relationships that I have made. Thank you to my teammates for two of the greatest years of my life, thank you coaches for making me the best version of myself on and off the field.
