DESIGN BEGINS WITH NATURE.

Nature has always been the original designer. Nature effortlessly balancing colour, texture, movement, light and form.

When I step away from the plans, measurements and material selections, I’m reminded that the most beautiful spaces rarely need to feel overly designed. They should feel grounded, intuitive and alive.

That philosophy shapes the way I approach interiors: welcoming natural light, working with organic textures, embracing honest materials and creating a sense of calm through balance. This is the essence of biophilic design requires creating a meaningful connection between the spaces we inhabit and the natural world around us.

Sometimes the best design inspiration comes when we slow down long enough to notice what has always been there.

Five design choices that make this powder room feel elevated.

Swipe through to see each detail that brings the space together:

1. Layered lighting
Wall sconces offer soft, flattering light, while concealed lighting behind the mirror and under the vanity adds depth and atmosphere.
2. A thoughtful mix of textures
Textured wallpaper, large-format tile, and a fluted wood vanity add interest without overwhelming the space.
3. Intentional scale
A tall mirror and elongated sconces draw the eye upward, enhancing height and giving the compact room architectural presence.
4. Soft, sculptural details
Curved forms and refined silhouettes soften hard lines, creating calm and elegance.
5. A balanced material palette
Warm wood, dark wallpaper, soft stone, and brushed metal are repeated throughout, with modern tapware tying it all together.

An elevated space isn’t created by one expensive feature—it comes from scale, lighting, texture, and materials working together. #interiordesign #powderroom #luxurybathroom taken in Mississauga, Ontario by @brixbury

This ensuite has been one of my favorite spaces on the project. Matte black tub, brushed brass, and that ravine view through the sheers. The curtains softens just enough of the afternoon sun to keep the room calm without losing the light.

Clean palette, without being boring. #luxurybathroom #bathroomdesign #interiordesign #modernbathroom #toronto by @brixbury
