This Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, I walk in memory of the woman who will forever be a piece of my heart. 🕊️

Ovarian cancer takes the lives of thousands of women every year in the U.S., there are currently no reliable routine screening test for women without symptoms. The average age at diagnosis is around 63, but knowing your body, recognizing persistent symptoms, understanding your family history, and talking with your doctor can make a difference.

For my Grandma. For the women we’ve lost. For the women still fighting. And for the wives, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, and mothers who deserve more time. 🩵

A year ago yesterday, I was signing the consent papers to move you to hospice.

A year ago today I prayed with you, anointed you with Holy oil, had one last praise & worship session, I told you that we would be okay that I would be okay, and we listened to the Psalms until you went on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year without you because it still feels like just yesterday. Some days I feel like I’m having a bad dream but I know it’s not a dream because I can’t wake up from it.

A year without your company, your conversation, your advice, your laughter. A year without being your personal uber delivery driver. A year without you asking me to come give you a massage or put some contraption together you ordered off the TV or asking me what’s the password to something😂. A year without trying new makeup together, or shopping together. A year without me sitting at your feet while you rub my scalp. A year without us talking about things God had been revealing to us.

A year without my beloved dear grandma, my confidant, but most of all one of my best friends.

I miss you so much.

I will love you always & forever,
