LOW TICKET ALERT!

Hi everyone, Tiz here! If you want to invite a friend to our Kind of Blue show Sept. 24th you should hurry. There's less than a dozen seats left! Link in the bio for tickets.

To give you a taste of what we're playing this coming Thursday, I want to give you a peek at a couple of our favorites from the setlist.

Miles Davis had a unique way to treat popular songs or songs from the American Song Book. There's always a chance that the pop song cover could come off as cheesy. Instead, Miles made the songs his own by paring down the melodies, giving the tunes space and making them emotional. My Funny Valentine is a great example. We’re hoping to treat Human Nature as a sparse, emotional journey based on Michael Jackson’s song.

Let's meet each of the members and guest artists for Kind of Blue with Tiz & Jane on Sept. 24th:

Last but not least and topping off the Erics we say hello to Eric Nelson! Eric taught music for 35 years in the public schools of Texas and Utah. He performed actively with various jazz, rock, and orchestral groups as a saxophonist, clarinetist, and keyboardist. Since moving to Savannah in 2023, he has performed with many of the local greats. Eric has loved Miles Davis (and Coltrane!) since 7th grade when his jazz snob brother bought the Greatest Hits album at Woolworth's. Yep, some of us are Woolworth's years old.

Let's meet each of the members and guest artists for Kind of Blue with Tiz & Jane Sept. 24th:

Bookending the members of Tiz & Jane, and celebrating 17 years since she met that trumpeter singing and dancing on the bar at The Mansion - those days! Jane's musical journey from choirs to punk band to wedding band to jump blues band to cabaret has been quite an adventure. Jane and John found dozens of gigs to work on together before launching Tiz & Jane in 2020. She's so grateful to hang among these talented humans.

We are Tiz & Jane. Jazz standards and jazz-infused contemporary tunes are our things. John Tisbert and Jane Ogle are Savannah transplants who met sometime around 2009, and recognized the resemblance in their musical language pretty instantly. Picking up gigs together ever since and finally formalizing Tiz & Jane in 2020. We are honored to be joined by Ryan, Eric, Charlie, Brandon, and even more Eric-among Savannah's finest musicians and humans.

Tiz has been talking about putting on this show for AT LEAST 10 years, so come out with us and share the joy of making it happen.
