Unadillaā€¦ by far my favorite race weekend of the year. I was super amped up and ready to be back at the races after the break, but like a lot of things in life, it didnā€™t quite work out how I planned. Had a big one training Tuesday and luckily walked away with just a small fracture in my knuckle. Decided to give it a go for the weekend, and honestly, it didnā€™t feel too bad. Then in Q1 we had another get-off, and hung my thumb up in the process. Got it checked out at the track and theyā€™re pretty certain I tore a ligament in my thumb. That being said, I was able to still ride through the pain and tough it out for the day. Although the results from this weekend donā€™t show it, I still feel like weā€™re competitive and have a lot more to show. Love being back in the PNW every year! Went 21-DNF after a mechanical ended my second moto early. Happy to grab another point in Moto 1, but definitely left more on the table. A lot of work has gone into these last few months. After being off the bike for over 6 months, I had to almost re-learn how to ride. My fitness was at an all-time low after spending 2 months on a walker and cane while also going through 3 surgeries during that time. Yesterday while packing up for this weekend, it hit me how surreal it is that weā€™re actually going racing again. Getting back to this point this soon was always the goal, but there were a lot of days where it honestly didnā€™t feel possible. I donā€™t know if weā€™re 100% ready, or if you ever truly feel completely ready, but Iā€™m extremely happy with where Iā€™m at physically, mentally, and on the bike.
