Brazil, August, 2026 Every moment I go to write about this experience, I get overwhelmed with emotion for the impact this trip has had on me. In late August, I got flown by @veja to Brazil to spend a week to learn more about their production processes. Each day, we met with local communities, recycling cooperatives (catadores) and farmers, to learn about their work and the impact that VEJA has had on their lives. Whether it be sorting through tonnes of recycling that otherwise would end up in water ways, or their commitment to agro-ecological farming practices, we bore witness to their commitment to bettering our planet. Along every step, we were met with so much warmth and joy. We were welcomed into family’s homes, served the most delicious home-cooked meals, shared stories, laughed, cried, danced, played soccer. It felt so connected, so alive, and so hopeful. What I took away the most from Veja, beyond their shoes and their commitment to sustainability, is that this is a brand compromised of people who deeply care about the world, have a genuine curiosity for how they can better it, and spend their lives uplifting communities. I’m proud to announce the launch of my creative production company @dehavenstudios As the world continues to move away from connection, I want to create a space within it that tethers back to our humanity.
