MAX IN THE PARK - 6th June 26

Save the date and join us on Hilly Fields from 12noon to 6pm for a fun filled day.

🎸 Live music,
🎨 Art and crafts tent,
🪡 Craft stalls,
🍭 Face painting,
🤩 and lots of fun.

We have plenty of food and drinks to keep you going and of course our raffle.

Applications for performers are now open, link in bio, and we encourage everyone to get involved with our 25th Anniversary year.

LEWISHAM SHOPPING CENTRE SPONSORS BROCKLEY MAX

Brockley Max is delighted to announce that it will once again be supported by Lewisham Shopping Centre. The centre’s owners, Landsec, is backing the popular community arts festival with a sponsorship deal largely focused on legacy projects in recognition of Brockley Max’s 25th anniversary.

A key project will be the creation of a self-guided mural trail, accompanied with a specially commissioned map by renowned cartographer and former Brockley resident Clare Seldon that features artworks commissioned by the festival organisers during the past 25 years.

Tickets for our @brockleymax festival 2027 fundraiser are now onsale. We are hosting a spooktacular Halloween Kids' Ceilidh at St Hilda's Church Hall SE23 along with @theboxofdelights_ceilidhband on Saturday 31 October. Tickets from just £5 per child; accompanying adults £7. Spooky outfits encouraged! by @brockleymax

Being up on Hilly Fields last night watching the incredible eclipse along with many hundreds of others brought us right back to the fabulous shared experience of Max In The Park (albeit with *somewhat* different weather) back in June. Love this community and thank you to our ever-enthusiastic volunteers for the energy you bring by @brockleymax

Finally fulfilled my dream of painting a large scale mural in my home borough of Lewisham ❤️

Painted as part of @brockleymax festival last weekend, the mural is inspired by early childhood memories of Lewisham, in particular Mr Pink who lived on Loampit Hill for many years and who’s brightly painted house always brought me joy. In many ways my first exposure to mural painting when I think about seeing him up his ladder painting bright red and blue stripes and shapes on his house. My family had placemats when I was growing up depicting Alphonse Mucha’s ‘Four Seasons’ - the pose is inspired by these tall lounging art nouveau forms I’ve loved my whole life. Shapes and colours inspired by stucco murals from inside Mr Pinks house as seen in Helena Appio’s beautiful documentary from 2015. Both Mr Pink and the four seasons wore flowers and wreaths of poppies in their hair. I wish more could be done to save his house which has fallen into more and more disrepair since he died in 2017. A true Lewisham character to be remembered 🌼

You can find it at the main entrance to the shopping centre on Molesworth Street!
