AKA The Swans 🦢est 2017
Beginners friendly football team based in South London for women, non-binary & genderqueer people 🧡

POSTS STORIES REELS

We’ve been slowly welcoming new Swans over the last couple of months 👋 🦢 Here’s some of the most commonly asked questions and more info on how we’re set up.

We welcome all ages (18+) and all abilities!!! The only thing we ask is that BUFC is your main (or only) club. This is because we have a lot of interest from new joiners so we want to prioritise space to those who don’t have an alternative space to play football 🧡

📧 If you like the sound of us then drop us an email (brockwell.united@hotmail.com) and we will get back to you as soon as we can with more detail about how you can join us at our training sessions. Thank you to those who have reached out, please bear with us as we are volunteer led. by @brockwellunited

"Joining Brockwell has changed my life for the better. Not only have I become obsessed with football as a whole, but it’s also given me a passion and purpose I have been looking for.
I was a bit worried at first how the team would see me. I’ve never really fit in anywhere and coming into a women’s team as non-binary person was an anxiety of mine too. However Brockwell took me with open arms and I could not be more thankful of them. The bond I have with this team I will cherish as they have changed my life for the better. As I continue my journey with Brockwell, I'm grateful for the opportunity to be myself and play the game I love."

🌟 Free football! 🌟

We recognise that the rising cost of living and the price of playing grassroots football is a potential barrier to join a football team.

This is why, with the support of National Lottery Community Fund, we are offering free spaces to anyone on Universal Credit (or in the process of applying) who wants to attend our training sessions and/or our league games.

If you think this offer could apply to you, all you need to do is email brockwell.united@hotmail.com and let us know if you’d like to come along to a session!

If you have any questions about the free spaces we are offering, please get in touch, we’re happy to answer your questions and will treat your email confidentially.

A huge 7-6 win to kick off the new szn!! The swans were out in full force for a rare 11 a side match on Saturday, tearing up Dulwich pitches. 7 swans are swimming and I guess 12 swans are winning? ⚽️ by @brockwellunited

Trans women deserve to play! At Brockwell we support trans rights 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

Yesterday we took part in the football bloc at trans pride, huge thank you to @claptonqueers @claptoncfc for organising it. by @brockwellunited

HAPPY PRIDE TO ALL THE QUEERS, ICONS AND EVERYONE IN GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️⚧️

Ever wondered what footballing dykons inspire the swans? What pride means to them? Well fret no more, we cornered some of our players after Monday friendly to get the answers you’ve all been after.

Pride is a celebration and it’s also a protest, a chance to say we’re here and we always will be.

Love and solidarity from the swans 🧡🧡 by @brockwellunited

Throwing it back to before this heatwave where the hottest thing was some of our swans competing in the Versus x New balance tournament 🥵🥵 Some amazing shifts put in by Alexa, Sarah, Aquira and Candi - World Cup worthy if you ask me, I’m sure Wiegman will be calling any day soon

Huge thank you to @siennalorrainegray and @shotbymelissaa for capturing the best angle of our players and @versus and @newbalancefootball for hosting such an iconic two a side tourney. Never played in anything like it before now! by @brockwellunited

It was the @amateurfa awards last night and wet were honoured to have two absolute divas represented at the awards 🌟
They’re a keeper, saving our asses every season!! Rhia Jacobs, Slaycobs if you will… You g Volunteer of the Year leading Monday friendlies and making us all aspire to be better goalkeepers 🥅🥅

Coach @annabellyons guiding us through drills and being patient even when admin needs to ask several times how the drill is done (pls I’m a visual learner who doesn’t even get boardgame rules) Patience of a saint and the Coaching skills of Wiegman 😎

Though neither won, Brockwell brought the vibes as usual and it’s amazing to see two legends of the game recognised so big thanks to the AFA and even bigger thanks to Rhia and Annie for being incredible people!! GIVE THEM ALL THE APPLAUSE 👏👏👏 by @brockwellunited

🧡 Flying west for the weekend 🧡

Delayed post from an amazing weekend in sunny Portugal 🇵🇹

Seven swans spent a gorgeous weekend in the sunny Algarve battling the best for the @kefisportsevents tournament ⚽️ Everyone put in a shift on the pitch and on the mic at karaoke (we all know what’s more important) 🎤 and had the best weekend battling it out in the spring sunshine!

Huge thanks to our Chair Sarah for organising the trip and giving us a perfect rendition of ice ice baby, hope next year is just as slay

Ciao, obrigado ✌️ by @brockwellunited
