OK this is a really niche reel, but Imma post it anyway for the Caribbean-Americans in San Diego. Otay Farms Market in Chula Vista not only has delicious handmade tortillas made with lard (or coconut oil if you prefer a vegan version) but the PLANTAINS! It’s so frustrating when you buy plantains that are green and you have to wait to ripen them or the pale yellow ones in most supermarkets. No trending audio, no fancy quotes… I’d been thinking about something poignant to post on the United States of America’s 250th birthday, but what I’ll say is if I have to be in the USA, I can’t imagine being anywhere else than San Diego.
