POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Broken Compass Bluegrass | BGS Sessions x MerleFest

From the Little Pickers Stage to a MerleFest stage years later.

Django Kale Ruckrich first came to MerleFest when he was around five years old, playing “Nine Pound Hammer” on the Little Pickers Stage and discovering some of his earliest guitar heroes, including Doc Watson.

In 2026, Django returned with Broken Compass Bluegrass for the band’s first MerleFest appearance.

Watch “End of the World” here, then hear more from Broken Compass and the stories behind their music in the full BGS Sessions x MerleFest performance, including two new songs from their upcoming fourth album, “Whisper of a Witch” and “Bound to Make It Better”: https://youtu.be/CzppPsSwC6k

Thank you to our partners at The Bluegrass Situation and IKNOWWESHOULD for helping us capture these moments and the stories behind them from MerleFest 2026.

The 'Boat is calling—we’re locked in and throwing away the map! ⛷️✨

We are incredibly honored to officially join the lineup for @winterwondergrass Steamboat as they celebrate their massive 10-year anniversary on March 5-7, 2027.

Sometimes a Broken Compass leads you exactly where you're meant to be—and for us, that’s right into the heart of the Colorado winter with our favorite peeps. Get ready for another legendary weekend packed with acoustic magic, mountain-top pop-ups, and, if the snow gods deliver, plenty of fresh powder. This isn't just a festival—it's a family reunion in the mountains.

A decade in the ’Boat means a lifetime of memories, and we want the whole BCB family there with us. 🏔️🎻

DON'T WAIT: This packed lineup is fixin’ to sell tickets fast. Grab yours and let's get lost in the music together! taken in Steamboat Resort by @brokencompassbluegrass

Hop on the Sleigh Ride for a Holly Jolly Pickin’ Party at Cervantes’! 🎄⛄️

I’m so excited to host this two-night holiday bluegrass run with some good friends: Bronwyn, Jason Carter Band, Broken Compass Bluegrass, Johnny Mullenax, and Bonfire Dub.

December 18–19: Two nights of pickin’, friends, and getting into the holiday spirit.

This one is also an official Road to WonderGrass show, featuring a WWG Welcome Pick, so come get a little taste of what’s ahead in Steamboat.

See y’all at Cervantes’! Tickets on sale now at the link in bio and on my website.
