📣 NEW ANIMATION REEL 🎺🎉🎉🎉

Recording any kind of reel with Martin Fisher at @sonicpond_studio is always time well-spent - excellent company, excellent direction, and always an excellent reel at the end of it. Martin is truly a wizard, and I’m stoked at what he’s achieved with this, my very first animation reel (can’t believe it’s taken me this long to make one…)

Thanks too to the lovely @kateharbourofficial and the equally lovely @donaldpirievoice for all your help getting me together for this one - your advice was invaluable ❤️

If you like what you hear, or fancy taking any of these bad boys out for a stroll, hit up my gorgeous agent @thedamngoodgroup

Thought I’d kick off the week by introducing my new gaming reel! Masterfully produced by Martin at @sonicpond_studio (pun thoroughly intended), it was an absolute joy to record. Thanks also to @thevoicedirector for the amazing demo clinics they run - their expertise is second to none, and were vital in licking this beast into shape ❤️

If you need a believable, versatile voice for your game, and this tickles your fancy, drop me or Georgia at @damngoodvoices a line!

Enjoy… ❤️🎮🎧

Huge belated congratulations to @larianstudios who absolutely smashed it at this year’s #goldenjoystickawards with #baldursgate3. I was so happy to have been a cog in the utterly massive machinery that makes up this game. 🎮👾🕹️

Here’s a snippet of mad-eyed Kressa Bonedaughter 👀 whom I had the absolute pleasure of performing in the game, in honour of the occasion. Isn’t she a peach? 😆

🎙️ Narrator Pick: Bronwen Price

For her pick, London-based narrator Bronwen Price recommends The Voyage Home by Pat Barker, brilliantly narrated by Kristin Atherton.

Bronwen loves Barker's powerful exploration of war, history, and the women of Greek myth, bringing characters like Clytemnestra and Cassandra vividly to life. But what makes this audiobook exceptional is Atherton's narration, delivering nuanced, authentic performances that make every character feel deeply human, even the most unlikeable among them.

🎧 A masterclass in both storytelling and narration.

I’ve just had the nicest few days at @2020.recordings, narrating the most wonderful of books (Joe and I agree that it has quite possibly changed our views on life for good 😌🙃)

And I even got to bump into the ravishing @kathrynvinclaire. My cup runneth over 😄

Swipe to see some of my audiobook-recording habits (cashew nuts and no shoes are a must…)

AND the most beautiful gecko that hangs out in the kitchen 🦎

Thanks so much to my gorgeous agents @thedamngoodgroup for sorting all this general loveliness out 😘😘

EXTREMELY EXCITED to announce that finally ‘The Little White Horse’ by Elizabeth Goudge (narrated by ME!) is out!

Thanks so much to @rbmediaaudio and @brandyl12754 for having me on board for this utter dream of a book ❤️

Winner of the Carnegie Medal

When orphaned young Maria Merryweather arrives at Moonacre Manor, she feels as if she’s entered Paradise. Her new guardian, her uncle Sir Benjamin, is kind and funny; the Manor itself feels like home right away; and every person and animal she meets is like an old friend. But there is something incredibly sad beneath all of this beauty and comfort—a tragedy that happened years ago, shadowing Moonacre Manor and the town around it—and Maria is determined to learn about it, change it, and give her own life story a happy ending. But what can one solitary girl do?

Happy audiobook release week to this little gem, #WhatDoWeKnowAboutFairies!

🧚‍♂️As often seems to happen with audiobooks, I’ve been working on several all at once with the same theme. Late spring/early summer has been soaked in all things fairies and magic. And this is the first of them released into the wild!

So lovely working with @thisiscuratedaudio @hvamaudio on this - congrats to @benhubbardbooks and @prhaudio!

The What Do We Know About? series explores the mysterious, the unknown, and the unexplained. Are fairies supernatural helpers or mischievous tricksters? Find out everything we know about the history of these magical and mythical creatures.

For centuries, the presence of fairies has been both debated and celebrated. To many cultures, their existence is as true as the sky is blue! In British and Spanish folklore, fairies sometimes live in barns and houses, helping with household chores for free, while in Celtic culture, fairies are frightening spirits who put curses on people. Some fairies are shy, hiding from humans in the forests, while others help hikers lost in nature.

Fairies have been depicted in fairy tales such as Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, and other classic literature. In modern stories, fairies are often beautiful, magical winged creatures with a variety of powers and capabilities. Whether we call them fae folk, fair folk, or fairies, the question remains: Are fairies real, and, if so, where can we spot them?

🎮 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿So chuffed to be a part of @alexhumphreystv’s fabulous new programme all about video game music - #GameTracks for @bbcradiocymru.

As a Welsh voice actor in games, I was invited to choose and introduce a track, and natch I went for a game I’ve been in (#baldursgate3 ‘Down by the River’ by @instaborislav) Wish I also could have squeezed in @danaikokogia’s ‘We Stand So Tall’ from #TitanIsles (featuring the delicious @ameliajonesvocals) or Joel Bayliss’ ‘Same Old Story‘ from Cassette Beasts, but there are so many brilliant tracks to hear on this episode alone that it makes up for it 😆

Check it out to also hear @steffanpowell @coldstorageofficial and @eimearnoonemusic speak about their experiences and the nitty gritty of the craft that is games composing (hats off to you all you games composers I’ve met in my travels - @danaikokogia @pavgekko @choicobo @tobyelliscomposer @dimitris_menex @ollienk_ @jdwasabi 👏👏👏)

Helsinki - what a charmer! Had the most delicious of times in what is clearly one of the best cities in the world.

Boat trips (thank you @sunnysinilondon for the Stromma rec❤️), bears, trams, Finnish food and coffee, architectural marvels, public art and Moomins.

And meeting up with a VO friend for a day out on the island zoo - the icing on the cake! Thanks @shesoundsgreatcom for being such a brilliant tour guide and friend ❤️
