two years ago, i gave birth to my best friend. everett otto.

i don’t have all the words to describe what it has been like, but i can confidently say it has been magical. it has also been one of the most difficult journeys i have ever gone on because i’ve been afraid i would not raise him into being someone good. thankfully, he is one of the best people i have ever known. he is good to the core.

call me corny but i think that the world needed his softness and his sparkling curiosity. it needed his heart. it needed his joy. i know i needed all the above and more. i needed him.

i’ll work my butt off to always be the mother he deserves and needs. i promise.

i still have no idea what i am doing, but i think i’m doing a great job because the little person you are becoming is extraordinary and wonderful. all the sleepless nights i’ve had over the two years has been worthwhile because it’s been spent with you.

you are gentle, smart, soft, sweet and absolutely one of a kind.

i can’t wait to show you how proud i am of you. i cannot wait to show you my instagram and show you all the pictures and videos i have of you. you are loved beyond words can describe. all of our friends and loved ones tell me “he is perfect” each time they see you. and, it’s true. you are.
