A show season full of things to be thankful for.

This show season has been one to remember. Even though we aren’t done yet, we still have four more shows to go. I’ll have to go back to school and won’t be around the livestock as much as I want.

I’m thankful for my parents, Ben and Beth, and my brothers. This industry isn’t easy, and success takes sacrifice—time and money. My parents always find the right people, breeders, and animals to help me reach my goals. Vacations for us mean showing; we never leave the animals behind because our program runs on a strict schedule of feeding, exercising, and washing legs. While I was in Ames during the week, my brothers kept my animals on the exact schedule I’m particular about, sending pictures and updates. I know they’ll keep it up when I’m back at school full-time.

I’m thankful for my friends, fitters, breeders, and everyone behind the scenes. Their support, whether they know a lot about livestock or not, made this summer so fun. They kept me calm before every show and made my days better by texting, calling, or coming to watch. You believed in us and helped care for, feed, and show our livestock. When we had questions about feeding or care routines, you were always ready to help.

I’m thankful for God. This industry isn’t easy, and He has been there every single time. When we had rough times in the barn through all the early mornings and late nights — the blood, sweat, and tears — even when I didn’t understand why things weren’t aligning for me, He reminded me in Isaiah 60:22, “When the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen.” I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I know He has something better to come for me.

We aren’t done yet. We have more goals to check off. We have bigger things to come. We are ready to see what happens next for us.

Here’s to a couple more months of the show season and one more season to show what I’ve been working for my whole life. by @brooke.booth24

Iowa FFA,
Breathing it all in with me, this has been all I ever needed. You have filled my heart with so much joy, and I was proud to watch you grow and see your passion drive you to achieve amazing things through this organization. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey and for allowing me to form meaningful connections with each of you. Through you, I found my true "WHY."

To make EVERYBODY feel like a SOMEBODY in this organization—and beyond.

To my team,
The man upstairs knew exactly what He was doing when He brought us together—not just to be friends, but to become a family. You've helped me through some of the toughest moments in my life and have stood by me during my highest highs. I will forever be thankful for every one of you. I can’t wait to see all of you do incredible things in the future.

To my family and friends,
Thank you for your endless love and support. You’ve helped me through everything, and I would not be the person I am today without you. I never could have imagined this path being possible for me, if not for you.
