Well this place was purty😍🌿

🗞️ Multnomah Falls is in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon, about 30 miles east of Portland. It’s one of the most recognizable waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest.

The waterfall drops about 620 feet in two major stages, making it the tallest waterfall in Oregon.

And that iconic little bridge you see? That’s the Benson Footbridge, sitting between the upper and lower portions of the falls.

Also, it isn’t primarily a snowmelt waterfall. Multnomah Falls is fed by underground springs, so its flow is relatively dependable year-round. But it generally has its greatest volume during winter and spring. taken in Multnomah Falls - Columbia River Gorge, Oregon by @brooke_goes_exploring

🗞️ Mount Fremont Fire Lookout is a historic fire lookout perched at about 7,181 feet on the northeast side of Mount Rainier.

It was built in 1934 and is one of only four historic fire lookouts remaining in Mount Rainier National Park. Its job was to watch for smoke and lightning strikes that could signal a wildfire and then report fires by telephone.

Interestingly, it wasn’t built primarily as a scenic viewpoint—although today it’s one of the areas main attractions.

While up there - the surrounding terrain is within sightline of:

- Mount Rainier
- The Cascade Range
- Mount Adams
- Mount Baker on exceptionally clear days
- The White River valley
- Grand Park
- And, on very clear days, views extending toward the Olympic Mountains

I went up when the area was pretty smoky from nearby Canadian and Colorado fires so excited to go back someday when it’s clear! 🏔️

🪶The Grand Canyon - one of my favorite places on earth! I always feel like I can never quite do it justice but here is at least an attempt. 📸
