A morning stroll through Darlinghurst led Matt & I to this lovely little café.

Delicious toasted bagels, great coffee and a little latte art to make us smile.

Speaking of humble…

The sourdough at Porteño last night reminded me of these @humble_sydney finger buns a supplier brought into the office for me the other week.

They look innocent enough… until you discover the literal slab of butter hiding inside.

Soft bun. Pink icing. Coconut. SLAB. OF. BUTTER.

Completely unnecessary. Completely iconic. And exactly why they deserved a spot on @brookeatthetable.

Sometimes the humble things are the best things.

Australian Foodservice Advocacy Body State of Play Report Launch — with a seat at the table.

A lunch that brought together so many of the things I love about foodservice — good food, clever thinking and great conversation.

Even the table arrangements had a story, created using food waste and flowers — such a simple but brilliant way to make something beautiful from what might otherwise have been discarded.

Then from the table to the panel, talking Cost, Capacity & Capability — Powering Australian Foodservice Through a High-Rate Economy.

And, of course, lunch deserved its own moment too.

Food. People. Industry.
Pretty much exactly why I started #BrookeAtTheTable.

@portenosydney . Yum. Yum. YUM.

I was enjoying the company and conversation so much, I forgot to take the phone out… hence no photos of the actual food again 😊

We started with a cocktail, some @humble_sydney sourdough & olives, then moved into tartare and those ridiculously good tallow-fried beef empanadas, where a bottle of red found its way to the table.

Then came the bone marrow and steak, with wood-fired cheese making an appearance — because obviously I wasn’t going to miss that.

And then there were the Brussels sprouts…

I genuinely can’t believe I’m saying this, but they may have been one of my favourites.

Such a good night around the table. Definitely one to go back to.

Race day… but you know I was watching what was coming out of the kitchen.

A long lunch at Morphettville for the Glenelg District Cricket Club Race Day.

Spiced prawns to start, beef fillet for main, followed by cheese and afternoon tea — all with a few glasses of wine and one of those glorious Adelaide blue-sky days.

A pretty perfect way to spend a Saturday with Matt.

The horses may have been the main event, but for me, it’s always about what’s on the table. 🤍

A slightly more official Brooke at the Table today.

The 2026 Royal Adelaide Show Official Luncheon, hosted by the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of South Australia.

A beautiful lunch celebrating the people, produce and primary industries that play such an important role in South Australia — and the opportunity to hear from The Hon Kym Maher and The Hon John Anderson.

I love the connection between agriculture and foodservice. Everything that eventually lands on a restaurant table starts somewhere, with a producer, a grower, a farmer and an entire supply chain behind it.

Today was a lovely reminder of that connection.

And yes… I actually remembered to photograph the food before eating it this time. 😂

XO chilli scrambled eggs for me and eggs Benedict with beef rashers for Matt.

Sometimes the best table is the one just down the road.

One of our local favourites and a very good way to start a Sunday.

Mine won, obviously.

A night at @6headaus 🥩🍸

If there’s caviar, steak and a dirty martini involved, I’m already pretty happy…

But this was one of those dinners where the whole experience was part of the fun.

We started with caviar (because apparently we’re fancy now 😂), worked our way through some seriously good food, that steak 🔥 and then a beautiful whole fish.

Add a few martinis, great company and a birthday dessert to finish and it was a very good night at the table.

And honestly… I’m still thinking about the steak.

Three days in Melbourne. Fine Food Australia. Two industry awards nights. Countless meals…

And not ONE photo of the food. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Strong start for a food account.

I did, however, manage to photograph plenty of champagne 🥂, an empty plate, a late-night stop at @rocketburgersandfries 🍔, some fabulous people around the table… and a pretty special award. ❤️

Maybe @brookeatthetable is going to be just as much about who’s around the table as what’s on it.

And I’m actually pretty happy with that. 🥂
