Getting to watch our sweet bird fly is a privilege we cherish in more ways than one. We are so grateful and blessed to enjoy the conclusion of an epic dance season with family and friends. Love you #sweetbabyd our tiny dancer ♥️ by @brookebeare

It was one of those parenting moments I don’t think I’ll ever fully have words for.

As my son wraps up eighth grade, he was honored as Male Student of the Year for the entire school — recognized for athletics, leadership, academic excellence, and the way he carries himself among his peers. @k_stjerne15207 and I were completely surprised… and yet, in another way, not surprised at all.

Because what this award really reflects is what we see every day behind the scenes. The early mornings. The hard work. The way he pushes himself. The way he tries to include people, encourage people, and genuinely be kind, even (and especially) to his always supportive younger sister.

And then what hit me was looking around at all of these kids who were honored together, and realizing, in what feels like the blink of an eye, they’ve grown into these thoughtful, talented young people who cheer each other on and accomplish incredible things together.

I’m so proud of our son. But I’m also just deeply grateful to witness this group growing up side by side.

His dad and I are so grateful to the teachers who nominated him, encouraged and pushed him, and to the support system of family and friends who allow our crazy lives to somehow work.

And yes… no one will be surprised that I’m emotional in these photos. ❤️ taken in Palm Desert, California by @brookebeare

Not the runner I once was but good enough to flash a blue ribbon with my son, who’s been putting in the work in a serious way, and saw it pay off today. 🏅#bestinschool taken in Palm Desert, California by @brookebeare

Best part of being on the red carpet at @psfilmfest is knowing my main squeeze is there beside me, right where we started 22 years ago. taken in Palm Springs, California by @brookebeare

Fantastic refresh with two of my oldest and best friends (and amazing moms) as we explored, hiked and dined our way through Big Sky, Montana and @yellowstonenps Thanks to all the bison and elk for the cameos 🦬 🦌 in this friendship film that’s pushing 40 years in the making! My heart is bursting with gratitude for these friends and for all those who made this trip possible. ❤️ taken in Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming) by @brookebeare

The greatest gift is a conversation. Thank you @mapda2024 for reminding us how important it is to talk to our kids about the dangers of drugs and keeping the lines of conversation open with our loved ones.
