Talk about a full-circle moment! 🥹🐾

When one of the puppies you helped raise makes it into your senior pictures!

This is our daughter Mackenzie, Class of 2027, and one of the helping hands behind raising our Cedar Ridge puppies!

And that handsome boy next to her? That’s Tuddy, from our very first Winnie × Croc litter, the Minnesota Lakes crew! 🤎

We traveled to Hayward, WI for Mackenzie’s senior pictures and it just so happens that our photographer, Molly, is Tuddy’s mama! Of course, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a few pictures of these two together. Molly even snuck in a few photos of Tuddy and me as well!

Pretty special getting to see one of our babies all grown up and sharing such a special milestone with us! 🐾❤️

This is our daughter, Mackenzie. Class of 2027. 🤍

When you look at these pictures, you’ll see her beautiful smile, her eyes, her gorgeous hair, and the stunning surroundings. And yes, she is absolutely beautiful.

But what I also want you to see is how beautiful she is on the inside, too.

She’s genuinely one of the funniest people I know! She’s hardworking, smart, strong, and the best sister. She knows what she wants, knows what she deserves, and isn’t afraid to stand her ground. She’s got a tough side, but underneath it all, she’s got such a soft heart. And if there’s one thing that hasn’t changed in 17 years, it’s that she’s the biggest daddy’s girl. ❤️

This spring, she’ll graduate with honors and go on to college to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. I’m sure nobody is surprised by that one! 🐾

She’s beautiful, yes. But who she is as a person - well that’s what makes her truly extraordinary 🤍

Dan and I couldn’t be more excited to officially congratulate Jake and his beautiful fiancée, Elisabeth, on their engagement! 💍🤍

We are so incredibly happy for these two and so proud of the life they are building together. Watching your children find the person they want to spend their life with is pretty special 🥹

Happy birthday to my firstborn… the boy who made me a mama ❤️

I seriously can’t believe you’re 27 today.

It doesn’t feel that long ago you were five years old, holding my hand through Target, calling me “Mother,” while we searched for the newest Spider-Man or Doc Oc action figure. Now you’re all grown up and I couldn’t be more proud of the man you’ve become.

My sweet girl, where has the time gone? Today you are 25 years old.

You are my ray of sunshine and blessing to everyone who has the privilege of knowing you. Your kind heart, your love for your dogs, your beautiful piano music, and most of all your love for Jesus make you so special.

Watching you grow into the amazing woman you are today has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. I am so incredibly proud of you and so thankful that God chose me to be your mama.

You are funny, smart, and quick-witted in a way that keeps all of us on our toes. Whether you’re on the football field, throwing in track, out hunting, fishing, or just being your laid back self … you do everything with heart.

The baby of the family, but somehow growing into such a strong, capable, incredible young man right before my eyes.

Happy 17th birthday Mackenzie - our sweet Munchie Moo 🤍

I am sitting here bursting with pride over the human you are. You are truly one of the very best people I know, beautiful inside and out, kind, hilarious, empathetic, an animal lover through and through, and the very best sister and daughter. Watching you grow into this young woman has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

It feels like just yesterday you were my little girl with your thumb in your mouth and your blankey always in hand… and now here you are independent, capable, hard-working, and getting ready to graduate WITH HONORS while working nearly full-time. You amaze me every single day.

You started as the sweetest little girl and somehow you’ve only grown sweeter with time. I am so incredibly proud of you and so proud of the woman you’re becoming. The world is better because you’re in it and we are so very lucky you’re ours.

Until next time my sweet Leia girl 💔

Man… who was I kidding, agreeing to foster two rescue puppies 12.5 years ago… like they were ever going to leave. Foster fail written all over me! Leia and her brother Luke were born in rescue and became ours from the very start. They both battled constant, short and long term health conditions, but were perfect in every way in my eyes.
My quiet girl. Never loud or rambunctious, but her soul was puppy-like, bright, happy, fun, especially when she was outside! Never ran away, never barked at me or others, got along with every animal and human. She was the quiet older, steady soul that anchored our pack.
I was never alone without even realizing it. She was the one you’d trip over because she was always quietly right there, like where did you come from, and other times she’d just watch me from across the room like it was her job.
She was woven into my routines, my nervous system, my heart and soul. In a house full of dogs, the absence of her is loud.
I loved her so deeply. It feels impossible that I won’t see her again in this lifetime. Run free, our gentle, beautiful girl. No more cancer. by @brookebjohnson
