nine years with you. nine years without you. my forever and always greatest attribute of me, is that I am Ryan Owens’s daughter, an American hero.
No words can express the magnitude of my emotions and the hardships one pains with grief of losing a father at a young age from battle. You were the greatest man and father a girl could have and provided me with a life til this day, I will continue to make the best of, just as you did.

the greatest gift God gave me was being your daughter and to have a man I admire forever, I set as a standard for all to come. I never will understand why i had to endure the loss of a father, one that would do anything for his family, and country, even strangers he didn’t know, but I will continue to rather than battle this thought, but take every chance I get with this life and do everything in your name to cherish your legacy. never will life feel complete again since you’re gone. although your not here, you are everywhere with us. in everything i do, in every moment, in evey chapter of my life.

Although this date symbolizes the day u went to heaven, nine years ago. this day feels no different than the other 365 days out of the year, for the past nine years. The same thoughts of knowing you should be here, the accomplishments and hardships faced, and that is so much as to why I have gotten so deep rooted in my catholic faith to find forgiveness for this act of terrorism. So much so, as I have pursued my passion for political sciences, law and psychology with hopes of helping those who strive to understand themselves, as did I, since your passing.

Living with the truth that I will be eventually living more moments without you presently, than before, the feeling is unbearable. I no longer can pretend you’re still on deployment. As if you are still here with me, as much as it hurts to begin to forget the tone of your laugh, voice, memories diminish. I feel as if I am still at the mind, of the nine year old girl you promised, that you would come home to , and is still waiting to this day… knowing one day this will be true again but for now, I will continue everyday to be the woman I strive to be, as your daughter.♥️
