The last three days of @wjmc_mason !! 📰🩷

I know I just posted on my main but I couldn’t not post here now that I’ve slept more than 5 hours lol.

On Wednesday, after our newsroom simulations, all of the national youth correspondents got the amazing opportunity of going to the national press club in Washington DC, where, we heard from @cillizzac and @cachemcclay. I was especially starstruck by Cache because I really love her work!! As someone who’s also from Cleveland and hopes to become an entertainment journalist one day, getting to hear her speak was such a full-circle moment and incredibly inspiring. After that, we headed to Color Feud…which I won’t elaborate on because we lost so badly….

On Thursday, I had an amazing time exploring the museums in Washington, D.C. with my Pink Group friends before ending the week at the gala, which was the perfect way to wrap up such an unforgettable experience.

This conference is something I’ll always be grateful for. It changed me not only as a journalist, but as a person. I took a chance, traveled five and a half hours from home, stepped far outside of my comfort zone, formed friendships and connections with people I never would’ve met otherwise, and learned from some of the best professionals in the industry.

huge thank you to my incredible Pink Group JFA Cooper (Prof. Wood) and FA Stephanie for making this week so welcoming, encouraging, and unforgettable. I’ll forever be grateful for everything you both did for us. I’m leaving with new lessons and friendships that I will carry with me for a long time. Thank you WJMC for reminding me why I fell in love with journalism in the first place. by @brookeisntbacikk

My first three days at @wjmc_mason !!

I am so grateful for this experience so far and am continuing to learn more about journalism every single day from the best of the best. I’ve heard from some amazing speakers such as @savbehrmanndc, @katieurban_, and, @annaroselayden, and, was even given the chance to ask a question to Sherri Dalphonse, editor in chief of The Washingtonian!

Additionally, today, I visited @dcnewsnow for my field assignment and learned from the anchors and incredible minds that go behind producing every single day. I am so excited for the next three days to come and am so happy to be here! taken in George Mason University by @brookeisntbacikk
