Happy World Photography Day. I feel very lucky to have this as a hobby, even more privileged to have this as a profession and just the right amount of imposter syndrome to tell people in conversation that I get to do it professionally. Here are few of my faves from over the years.

Betty White. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. This song was actually playing on the radio when we got in the car after picking her up the first time and it’s pretty fitting I guess. Here’s to the best friend I ever had. Love you forever my funny, sweet and happy girl. by @brookemaxwell

Bit of this, bit of that and some solid proof of Georgie the cockatoo on my arm as evidence that there’s still hope yet for a beautiful friendship to blossom between us. How lucky am I to have shot for 60+ venues in the past year with many more to come. 🔥

I said to myself the other day I would start posting more work related stuff. Mainly because I’ve somehow manufactured a feed that resembles a zoo brochure (minus my girl Betty). So here you have it.

I left Sydney for a few days after Bett’s passing, just to get away from the reminders and give myself some space to grieve in my own way.
A few people have asked me if I’m okay being around dogs or animals, and the answer is absolutely. Being around animals is my favourite thing in the world, so you can imagine just how much my own girl meant to me.
This trip felt particularly special because I had SO many beautiful wildlife interactions. I was able to spend time photographing (which is my other favourite thing in the world ,after my friends).
More importantly, I was able to just sit quietly with my grief in a place where I felt safe, surrounded by wildlife.
Here are just a few of the beautiful interactions I was so incredibly privileged to have. 🤍🤍🤍 by @brookemaxwell
