It's not an easy one. Civilians (non industry) are always curious what it's like. It seems fun, glamorous, exciting. Sometimes it is. When you're making a crew of people laugh, or sitting in a make-up chair, you feel great! But most actors are only on set a handful of days a year.

And the other days can be hard. Imagine going on 2-6 job interviews a week, hundreds of interviews a year. People frequently say, "I've heard it takes 10 auditions before you're cast." Try 50, 100... It's not uncommon for actors to go a year or two with no acting jobs---but not because you're not auditioning. You'll be auditioning constantly. If you're lucky. And you'll wonder what's wrong with you. You'll feel like an utter failure. You'll feel embarrassed to answer the question, "what are you working on now?" or "what do you have coming up?"

But you need to remember that just getting auditions is GOOD! There was a time when you wanted more auditions!!! A time when you submitted for auditions everyday and never even got a CHANCE to "interview."

So, celebrate! Celebrate every step of the journey. Celebrate getting auditions. Celebrate those hundreds of opportunities. Celebrate the little steps along the way. They add up. Don't be embarrassed by your journey. Don't get caught up in where you're not, and enjoy where you are. Don't compare your journey to others'.

These are reminders for you AND me!

Today I'm celebrating signing with a second agent. I'm adding to my team and ready for the next leg of the journey. And my journey might look different than yours, but that's ok. And my journey might confuse people outside "the industry" but that's ok. It's mine to walk, and I walk it happily. And when things get hard, which they will, I'll try to remind myself to celebrate the small wins.

Even more FAILURES. Final clips from fun auditions I did NOT book in 2025. Probably 30+ more, but these were funny..to me.
