Hi!! Here is my long over-due camp post!

Still feeling so extra grateful for this experience with the most amazing people ever! I never thought I would find God in the dirty work of scrubbing floors, cleaning bathrooms, and changing diapers. But somehow, the gospel always seems to make itself known in the places I least expect it. Jesus willingly lowered Himself to serve us, and then He called us to go into the world and do the same. The work that feels small, messy, or beneath me is often where God reminds me that I am not called to be above serving others. My pride so easily makes me forget that the gospel is not just something I believe but it is a life I am called to live. To humble myself. To serve. To love others in the ordinary and unseen moments, just as Jesus did. And maybe the places I’m most tempted to overlook are the very places God is teaching me to look more like Him.

All smiles for freshman year!!

Thank you Lord for a place like Samford and the community it's given me! The Lord knew I needed this place and these people before I knew I needed them and he loves to give good gifts to his children! This video is my testament that living for Jesus in all ways is one of the most fulfilling and joyful ways to live. Not saying hard times won't come or that the walk will be easy, but that through the troubles God gives us unexplainable peace, joy, and hope until the end of our lives when we get to be reunited with him and live free of a broken world. This past weekend, I made the decision to get baptized with my best friend. This decision has been a journey marked by discipline, learning, failure, and getting back up again. I’m not perfect and I never will be, but it doesn’t matter because Jesus came and died and washed away my imperfections. He made me pure, whole, and perfect again. I made this decision because recently God has opened my eyes to what it truly looks like to follow him. What it looks like to have a relationship with him and glorify him in everything I do. Once I gave God my everything, I became a changed person. I don't even recognize the person I was before. There’s a difference between saying you're a Christian and laying down every action, every thought, and all ways of life at the feet of Jesus. My journey hasn’t been perfect, and it sure won’t be perfect in the future, but I want this day to serve as a reminder to me that I have died to my early desires and have been made new in Christ. I hope to be reminded not to give into the things of this world but to strive everyday to lay everything down with Jesus and strive to do everything in his name. I’m so blessed to have spent this moment with my best friend, boyfriend, and the person who demonstrates God's love for me every day. Niccolo, you push me every day to be the best version of myself and are my biggest inspiration of what it looks like to be on fire for the Lord. I’m so grateful that I got to share this moment with you and can’t wait for all the things God is going to do in our lives. Also, thank you to my biggest role model, Ashlee, who was one of the first people to show me what it looks like to be living for Jesus everyday. Your faith has changed my life, and you don’t understand how much your life impacts others. Jesus truly shines through you, and there’s no one else I would’ve wanted to baptize me. Thank you, Jesus, for every day, every moment, and every breath that I get to live in your name. This life is a gift, and I can’t wait to see what it holds for me.

MY HEART IS SO FULL...

The Lord has truly blessed me with these memories I will never forget. This experience has changed me and given me a whole new perspective on life. It's opened my eyes to the beauty of Gods creation and all the countless blessings there are around me. It's made me realize that pain and joy can coexist because of what the Lord has done. It's shown me that with the Lord there is always hope and because of hope, there is joy. I couldn't be more grateful for the sisters I've made here in Uganda and the lessons they've taught me about this life. I can't wait to go back again soon!

Next up... graduation!

Wanted to post some moments from my last few weeks of high school. I couldn't be more grateful for the people who were walking alongside me during this time. I'm so beyond blessed for all the people who inspire me and help me grow in my faith. Through all the grad parties, senior celebration, and senior trip, here are some of the things the Lord has been teaching me. The first is how to trust him on a deeper level. Sometimes, it's okay not to have all the answers. With all the change that has come and is coming, it's brought a lot of stress and confusion. But, I've been learning that it's okay and that I can still have joy and peace even if it's confusing and stressful. The Lord brings us joy through trusting him. Joy comes from trusting that the Lord's way is better and that he will bring us through any struggle we are dealing with. Joy is regardless of the circumstance and can be found in the darkest places. Sometimes God doesn't want us to have answers for a reason. I've been learning to be still in his presence and not rush to find my answers for myself. I've been learning how to slowly be in his presence. If we are rushing ahead of Jesus then how do we expect to follow behind him? Instead of trying to find answers by myself, I've been learning to wait on the Lord's timing to allow him to lead me in the right direction.

If this trip has taught me anything, it’s the importance of surrounding yourself with people who build you up and help you grow into the person you want to become. My friends and I aren’t perfect, and we’ve faced our fair share of disagreements, but on the last day of this trip, we gathered together to reflect on the past four years. We shared stories and memories that we will cherish forever. We also took time to pray and thank the Lord for one another as we part ways after this semester. I am beyond grateful for these friends who have helped me through the last four years and continue to pray for me, building me up in my faith.
