At age 28, Dolly Parton broke away from her mentor, wrote and released a no. 1 hit, and established her career and identity as a solo artist. Drinks were had. Merriment was made. But most of all, love was celebrated.

The kind of love these two share is the kind people write about in books and movies. It has transcended time, distance, and so much more. Everyone who knows them understands how perfect they are for each other. I could not have been more honored to have witnessed these two come together this weekend.

Nothing and nobody could possibly have prepared me for how impactful this experience would be on my life. Serving alongside everyone on this crew has been nothing short of a dream. I will never forget it.

Bridge crew. Each of you brought such integrity, kindness, and strength to your roles. Nobody could lead us better.

Turbolifts. Without a doubt, you filled the toughest spot on the ship. And though all of you brought something different to the space, you filled it well.

Sickbay. You brought such grace and intention to an unpredictable room. Listening to you charge up our guests during the yellow alert always brought my energy up with theirs.

Shuttlebay. You invited these guests into our world and held the attention of every person in a very large, very loud room. Your presence shines from within.

Swings. Whether I was sharing the room with you or witnessing from nearby, I always knew we were in good hands with you onboard. Thank you for bringing your talents to our crew.

And my fellow Engineers. I am so proud to be one of you. You all inspire me. And I know we inspired guests young and old as well.

Representation matters. Inclusion matters. Creativity, kindness, curiosity, teamwork, and joy matter. We as a crew brought those things to people.

We are all individuals, they could not have picked a more unique group of people to form this crew. And I am grateful to call each of you my crew mates and, more importantly, my friends. Until the next journey. Live long and prosper.
