My DNP journey has been one of the most challenging seasons of my life so far. It brought so many changes, both personally and professionally, so much growth, and so many moments that stretched me in ways I never expected.

Going back to school full-time, stepping into my role as a new RN, teaching at two to three studios, starting over, buying a condo, moving out of my childhood home, and still trying to be fully present in my life… it wasn’t always easy. There were times I felt overwhelmed, times I doubted myself, and times I wondered, like the song says, “Can I handle the seasons of my life?”

I often found myself coming back to the words I’m always pouring into my classes (or yelling 😅): “Do the hard things.” “You don’t have to, you get to.” “Be better, do better.” “You chose to be here.”

Funny how the same words I’ve spent years challenging others with became the exact words I needed to hear myself. And somewhere along the way, I remembered the days I used to dream of being here.

This season shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever 🎓🤍

Looking back, every season, even the hardest ones, brought me exactly where I was meant to be… right here. I know there are still seasons ahead that will challenge me, but now I trust that I can handle them… gracefully, intentionally, truthfully, and honoring the girl who once dreamed of this.

Saturday marks the completion of my Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner journey at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene. 🌈💚

I did not get here alone. I owe so much of this to my village… my parents, my brother, my grandma, my extended family, my angels above, my best friends, my colleagues, mentors, and my CPY, Heated, and YRH community. I will never forget the people who carried me through this season 🤍✨

My heart is SO full. So grateful, so humbled, and so ready for what’s next 🩺 taken in Honolulu, Hawaii by @brookieprotacio
