With heavy hearts, the Brooklyn Gives Family mourns the heartbreaking loss of our beloved Kinu Rochford.There are no words that can truly express the pain of losing someone whose life was taken far too soon. Kinu’s presence, spirit, and the impact he had on everyone who knew him will never be forgotten.A true New York City basketball legend, Kinu made his mark both at home and abroad. His talent, determination, and love for the game carried him to play professionally overseas, where he proudly represented his city and inspired countless young athletes to chase their dreams. His legacy extends far beyond the basketball court—it lives on through the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the example he set.We grieve alongside everyone who loved Kinu and stand united in honoring a life that mattered deeply. Gun violence continues to leave families and communities carrying unimaginable pain, and today we remember not only what was taken from us, but also the incredible light, strength, and love that Kinu shared with the world.To Kinu’s family, friends, teammates, and loved ones, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared and strength in the overwhelming love surrounding you.Rest peacefully, Kinu.
