this is a song i wrote last summer called “meet me.”

and do i hate posting this? approximately YES. BUT today’s the day i break my streak of overcoming my cringe bot fears and say ggs to the years of nagging feelings to share my music haha

I finally caved because the words of this song have been my life recently.

I was actually the most exhausted and broken girl at the beginning of this summer.
And in times where I had given all that i possibly could give, Jesus Christ met me.

He empowered me. He filled me. And after the weirdest couple months He healed me.
He can do the same for you.

“Men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace” (Ezra Taft Benson)

That is what I have lived this summer.

Jesus Christ meets us where we are so He can bring us to where we need to be. I love Him forever for it. by @brookrhodesss

This week absolutely changed my life
I learned what it REALLY means to walk with Him.
One time the best guy basically EVER said this:
“and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.”

it wasn’t an invitation to walk beside Him, it was an invitation to let Him live IN us while we walk

That means your steps are His steps.
Your tears are His tears.
Your struggles are His struggles.

He is with you because He is IN you, if you let Him. That’s not just a friend supporting you from the side, that’s an internal life and power STRAIGHT from heaven that exists within you

THAT’S why nothing is impossible with Him. THAT’S why our joy can be constant.
THATS’S why He did what he did.
So that we could live a life where He literally completes us and is with us ALWAYS

my youth this week proved it
I met Jesus IN every single one of them
in their testimonies, in their deeds, in their discipleship
they changed my life because they brought me closer to the one who offers us change daily

They have taught me what it means to abide in Him, and to let Him abide in us, and I love them forever for it

He died to rise again. To live. In you and in me. If we let him He will walk with us, IN us, all the way back to our heavenly home. taken in 24/7 WITH JESUS by @brookrhodesss

love can hurt
and because of that we sometimes hesitate to share it

I love sharing my EPIC TIMEZ on social media BUT I also think it’s important to STAY REAL cuz life isn’t always chuckles and smiles and that is 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙊𝙄𝙉𝙏.

I’d feel fake for posting these happy happy pictures without admitting how many tears of exhaustion I shed the very next day.

I woke up in my hammock on actual EMPTY. I had ran myself into the ground trying to do it ALL.
𝙙𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙗𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚.
I was running so fast and so hard trying to SAVE MYSELF that I ran straight into a wall and fell there.

and I fell hard. So hard that I haven’t quite gotten back up yet. So hard that I kinda hope I never do.
Because falling helped me finally slow down.
being so ULTIMATELY exhausted helped me realize that it was NEVER going to be me 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛, 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙚.
Because someone much greater already 𝘿𝙄𝘿. 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙏.

My friends have heard me joke infinite times about how that weekend “BROKE ME” cuz I have been oh so exhausted and oh so reliant on my savior ever since.

but I think that’s why I say it, because my pride WAS literally broken and I realized there isn’t anything I can do without him. Or at least that I SHOULD do without him.
Not a test, Not my relationships, Not a camping trip in the mountains.
I know He will probably have to remind me 1000 more times but I really do just need him 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧.

SO THIS IS YOUR REMINDER that you can’t save yourself. That’s WHY you have a SAVIOR! Let him help you let him guide you let him love you.
His enabling power will literally allow you to accomplish things that you couldn’t without him!
If you let Him, He will pour His grace into 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚, 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨.
you’ll be so much happier and your instagram captions will be a lot shorter than mine:)
ok anyways GRATEFUL for Him and these people who keep me close to Him.
