Final goodbye to MJHS room 5 of the rotunda. There were no right angles, lots of missing tiles, lots of black mold, depressingly little natural light because of the tiny wjndows, 4 outlets for 30 kids with computers, and a circuit breaker that flipped constantly.

BUT sometimes I would come into work and the boss would say, “Hey your room’s flooded so can you just teach outside today?” So that was fun. And one time I came in and the boss said, “Hey there’s a cat in the ceiling but we don’t know where.” So that was REALLY fun.

I hate being bored. And this room, with all its problems, had a certain charm about it, and was certainly never boring.

Most importantly, I met some of my favorite people I’ve ever known in this room. A couple thousand or so students. Some of the most caring, kindest, and funniest people this life has to offer came to me in this room, so I’ll always have a soft spot for this space.

Onward to the new building we go. 18 years down. Hopefully a million or so to go. taken in Moody Middle School by @brooksetheredge

Senior night with my all-time dog, @cam.mallory1 He’s one of the brightest, most intellectually curious kids I’ve ever had the pleasure of teaching, and I’m lucky to get to be around him. @wvufootball is getting one of the best of all time. Love you, Cam!!! by @brooksetheredge
