Really excited to share my first project with everyone.

Built with a local Alaskan remote construction team, powered by the Sun, and supplied by Homer, Alaska

Intentionally set on a tiny footprint that leaves the wildlife free to be wild 🌈 , happy to walk the same trails they did since before our project began, and designed for unparalleled photo-opportunities without compromising on the comforts you need to enjoy your first or hundredth time in true remote wilderness.

Bespoke: Ground-floor photo-windows for Hero- and Eye-Level shots of bears in natural forest and meadow settings from the base of the guest Suites & dining cabin; perfect for monitoring the active bear trails that were left entirely intact around the guest buildings.

Boutique: Four suites above bear-level with en Suite bathrooms, wrap around balconies, temperature controlled heating, 24-7 electricity and in-room high-speed limitless wifi: constantly cozy if the weather sucks, and upper-level patios provide a worry-free way to take in the fresh air & sunshine, & enjoy the views without disrupting the lives of bears.

Breathtaking: Located within thousands of acres of private, pristine wilderness that is a true baseline for what Alaska wild looks like and should feel like.

Photos on $20,000 of equipment will always nice.

But showing the wider view, of us just sitting and watching the bears walk along the shore, gives you a sense of being right there with us as we soak up these moments. It also shows that you don’t need a big fancy camera to enjoy life at BBB. You can come for the love of the wild and animals.

As we head into chiller days, my 10k bear photos from @brownbearbay keep us warm 😂. Stay tuned for many more.

The coolest family in the bay!
•
Cubs meet their first humans only once. It’s rare, but so important for that moment to happen on the Mama’s terms. When a mother trusts a group enough, she may bring her cubs closer, as a lesson to not be afraid of us and to respect each other as friends, coexisting peacefully in the same space.
•
@bradjosephsphotos calls it “one of the most beautiful moments that bears and humans can share,” and he couldn’t be more right.
•
Safi gave us that gift in early June at Brown Bear Bay, just one day after bringing her COY out of the den. One of the highlights of the summer in Alaska.
•
But moments like this can only happen if you are with the right guides who treat the bears correctly. Always respecting their space, letting them exist peacefully in their own habitat at a distance, and being patient, quiet, and calm as a group. Only then will these special moments happen, and on the bears’ terms.

This may have been the first time these cubs saw humans (or one of the firsts). They were extremely curious but also skittish and the team at @brownbearbay hadn’t recognized the mamma bear much (or at least she was an infrequent visitor to the area).

So I got the pleasure of naming her Daenerys - or Dany - due to her blonde color and the fact that she has 3 cubs (sadly no dragons were seen in Chinitna Bay).

I really loved how the cubs were all bundled up next to mom for protection as the golden light hits her face.

Split second moments I’ll hold onto.

Getting to witness these bears at @brownbearbay gives you an incredible sense of what bears go through each day. We spent ~ 7-9 hours with the bears each day, watching them fish, meander, munch on grass, and sleep. By the end of the week, you knew their names, and cheered them on as they caught fish in preparation for winter.

Soup catching a Chum Salmon in 2025 🐻🐟 Soup is a skilled fisher and especially in this specific area because it is the water right off of Soup’s Kitchen!!
