Hmmm, where do I even start? 😂

If I’m being real, I’ve spent way too long being scared to put myself out there. Yeah, you heard that right. Believe it or not, I’m just like you—dodging the potential of getting canceled for saying something too real or out of pocket 😂

But out of pocket for whom? 🥲

I’ve always loved writing, but lately, my thoughts have been so wild, spicy, and very much outlandish I’m surprised they haven’t gotten me into trouble- Yet. But you know what? I’ve hit the point where I don’t really care. There’s always someone who gets it, someone who’s vibing with those out-of-pocket thoughts.

They say at 25 your frontal lobe gets developed, I don’t know 🤷🏾‍♀️ if mine has yet or I’m curious to find out what things I’m learning at 25, because honestly, I think I’m a know it all already.

It’s going to take while before I start making video contents, but I thought we could start from somewhere, so I created a space for all these learnings, experiences, mistakes and I want you (if this is your vibe of course)🤭 to be part of it.

Guess who’s back to the gym!!

This guy! I’ve been away for a month and my body rested just enough for me to resume and continue pushing it as hard as it can go.

Eased back into the routine with some light warm up and light weight programs.

😂 did a thing over the weekend.

Unlike popular opinion, I’m fine, I’m doing well actually 😂. This also wasn’t spontaneous, I had planned to cut this earlier but my friend @iambami__ decided she wanted us to do ponytails for her wedding and I love her so much to rebel. And then my birthday and then my trip, there was never a right time, until last weekend.

To my biggest supporter @ruth_ikegah thank you 😂, you believed in me first. To my friends, you’ll never have a dull moment with me, this I promise you 😂.

I thought I’d have enough time to put how I feel into words, but the longer I stay thinking, the more words seem to flow. So if I keep waiting, I might have to release an ebook. 😂

This year, for me, has been so restful. I’ve had challenges, of course. I’ve cried. I’ve been disappointed. I’ve won, I have no losses, just lessons

I’ve had the privilege of seeing my friends all the time. We’ve celebrated, shown up for one another, cried and laughed until our stomachs hurt, and created memories without necessarily realising we were creating them.

And I think that’s why I wanted a birthday party so badly.
I wanted everyone I love in one place, eating, laughing, talking, taking pictures, being silly and existing in the same room. And if you know me, you know there was always going to be food because I feed my friends. It is one of my love languages. 😂

But somewhere between planning the party and actually seeing everyone there, I realised that what I was really celebrating wasn’t just another year of my life. I was celebrating the people who have made my life feel full. That love me for me, no questions asked, no performance.

I am so deeply grateful for the life I get to live. The friends I have offline and online, here in Lagos, Portharcourt and abroad (the sisterhood) I don’t take friendship lightly. I don’t take community lightly. I don’t take being loved lightly.

There is something incredibly beautiful about getting older and realising that the things you once thought would make you happy aren’t necessarily the things that do. Sometimes it’s looking around and thinking, wow, these are my people and they love me down.

I’ve had a lot of those moments. I’m grateful for every version of me that got me here. I’m grateful for the life I have. I’m grateful for the life that is still coming. And I’m incredibly grateful that I get to share it with so many wonderful people.

Happy birthday to me. 🥂 And to everyone who celebrated with me, loved me, showed up for me, sent a message, made a call, brought a gift, ate my food 😂, or simply exists in my life — thank you.
