These three painting are a repost. I’ve reworked the Red Bellied Woodpecker. All three are oil paintings and all three remind us to keep domestic cats in whenever possible. Both feral and domestic cats kill billions of birds in the U S every year. Sad but documented in many studies. All three paintings have been painted in the last year. Ppb

Cardinals from my Back Window, July 2026, oil on canvas, 14 x 11”, ppb
I was asked to paint this. For many people cardinals symbolize loved ones coming to visit. Their vibrant beauty brings hope, happiness and memories.
Especially in the warm months, I have many species of birds in my yard. I enjoy witnessing their activities. I love how the trees lead back and back again.

Yellow Butterflies Dance in New Harbor with Lobster Boats and the Sea. 2026, #1. Oil on paper, 11x9”. #2. Colored pencil, 8 x 7”.
Ppb
I am working on a small series of my impressions and memories of New Harbor and Vinalhaven, Maine. Lobster boats in relationship with wild creatures
continue to emerge.
The potential of a special and somewhat new environment for me, lends to many whimsical and mysterious thoughts for my art.

Ppb
Here are only a few of many details from this painting. My painting has many little stories. My painting is only a fragment of the stories happening in my meadow. Exciting!

Two of my Worlds, 9/2026, oil on canvas, 36 x 24”,ppb
I started a small meadow in my side yard a few summers ago. I had thought I had a fair amount of animals in my mowed yard.
When I stand, looking into my meadow I am in awe of the constant thrum of life. Animals and plants are constantly moving, thriving and living their lives.
*please look for a post of details from this painting. I feel there are many stories in the piece.

Study/Oil, Prairie Dogs, Independence Pass, Colorado,2026,14x11”,ppb
I continue to explore my impressions of our trip to Colorado. The animals in the Colorado settings, work for me. In this painting, I was exploring through color, how the space in the mountains go from high to low and climb again to another elevation.
