Throughout Season 1 we discuss the struggles of dating as Black women and the importance of celebrating Black Love. We are super proud to be sharing our voices with @bumble_uk in #MyLoveIsBlackLove to increase the visibility of love in Britain’s Black community. Over the next 31 days, you’ll hear 31 stories from members of our community celebrating and exploring what love means to them. ⭐️ SEASON 2 FINALE ⭐️

In the final episode of Season 2, we reminisce on our not-so-smooth transition from university students to young 20-somethings with full-time jobs. We share our horror stories from missed flights to maxed out overdrafts and discuss how our relationship with money has changed from our teenage years to present day.

⭐️ PART 1 ⭐️

A year today since we launched our first episode and what a year it’s been!!

We never would’ve thought our hours long group chat conversations about our dating horror stories (eg accidentally dating a racist and being ghosted for a year and a half 😭) and shared experiences as black women would turn into an actual podcast with actual listeners?!😂

Thank you so much to everyone who has tuned in, supported, and shared for the past 2 seasons - looking forward to the next chapter!

Brown Sugar x @hyphenative

In episode 9, we explore the nuances of having a hybrid identity - being an ethnic “minority” raised in a white majority country. With our special guest Vietnamese-German Jeuni Tran, we discuss the similarities between the Asian and African diasporas. We address the discrimination faced by both communities and how we can better form solidarity and be allies to each other.

In our last episode, we played “Raise your glass or give it a pass” - raise your glass if you admire the level of commitment to the turnup or give it a pass of the person took it too far 😂

Disclaimer : these are real life scenarios lol

Listen to episode 8 and play along or let us know in the comments if you have any similar stories - best story wins a prize! 🤪

We know everyone is sick of talking about the pandemic and most of all, we’re sick of being inside. But the light at the end of the tunnel is steadily approaching (we hope) which means the turn up is in the horizon!

So in this episode, we share some of our favourite night out memories, discuss our dos and donts of partying, and dissect the deeper meanings behind partying and how it can be a mode of political resistance!

CONSIDER THIS YOUR PODCAST PREES TO JUNE 21st 🤪🤪🤪

Episode 7 is LIVE! 🥳⭐️

In this episode, we are joined by special guest and host of @themotion_, @fe.oj! We discuss the concept of black excellence and its historical roots in opposition to slavery and oppression. But does black excellence do more harm than good? Who defines what ‘excellence’ looks like? Is it every day exceptional, why can’t we just be averagé sometimes? We discuss the need define blackness and excellence for ourselves and acknowledge that existing in a world that makes life difficult is in itself excellent! 🤎 by @brownsugarpod
