Happy 11th Birthday to my beautiful girls 🩷✨

Eleven years. I truly don’t know how we got here so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was holding two tiny babies in my arms, wondering who you would become, and now I look at you and see two incredible young ladies who make me proud in more ways than I could ever put into words.

I miss the little versions of you, but I love the girls standing in front of me today. Every year I get to know a new version of you, and somehow each one becomes my favorite.

You are kind, sweet, funny, strong, determined, and so talented. Watching you both on the softball field and seeing how much you’ve grown, how hard you work, and how much you believe in yourselves makes me so proud. But even with all of your talent, it’s your hearts that I’m most proud of. The way you love, care for others, and simply remain true to who you are 🥎🩷

I love our Starbucks/Sonder dates, our jams in the truck when we’re singing way too loud, our laughs over things nobody else would understand, and becoming little ”Glo” fans just like mom. 🫶🏼 It’s the ordinary moments with you that I wish I could bottle up and keep forever!

Minlea and Lylea, being your mom has been the greatest honor of my life. You have grown right in front of my eyes, but in mine, there will always be pieces of those two little girls I first held eleven years ago.

Ten years ago today, I met my two greatest gifts.
I still remember holding you both for the first time, feeling like the world had stopped just so I could take in your perfect little faces. In that moment, my heart doubled in size and has never stopped overflowing since.

You’ve grown from my tiny miracles into the most incredible young ladies. You’re kind, smart, strong, and full of so much light. You share a bond that’s unbreakable, a love only twins can know, and watching that has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

The last decade has flown by in a blur of giggles, milestones, scraped knees, late-night snuggles, and unforgettable moments… and I would relive every single one all over again.

Minlea & Lylea, you are my heart walking around in two bodies. I’m so proud of you, so grateful for you, and so blessed to be your mom.

It’s such a beautiful thing to witness them growing into their own. So different, yet so connected.

They both carry such an incredible light, that shines so bright, it stops me in my tracks.

They are kind. They are strong. And they are ready for all the incredible things this year will bring.

Oh, how I’ve dreaded this day since the moment I brought you home. I knew it would come, but no part of me was ever truly ready for it. I never imagined that in the softest, furriest little body, I would find the purest kind of peace, the deepest love, and the truest best friend I’ve ever known.

If you know me, you know Rem. She was me — the better, softer, steadier part of me. She’s been there through it all — every heartbreak, every triumph, every moment that shaped the person I am today. My first apartment, my first real heartbreak, my first marriage, pregnancy, the birth of my children, divorce, new jobs, long nights… all of it. She was right beside me. Always. Like she knew exactly when I needed her and exactly how to just be there.

The pain of losing your best friend, your soul companion, is something no one prepares you for. It’s a grief that cuts through your bones. It’s the silence in the house where her paws used to echo. It’s the absence of that familiar nudge, that comforting presence, that unconditional love. It’s the way everything feels a little emptier — because she’s not here to fill it.

I don’t know if I’ll ever feel like I did her justice — like I ever truly thanked her enough for carrying me through the darkest nights. She held space for my pain when no one else knew how. She loved me when I was most unlovable. She saved me, again and again, without ever needing to be asked.

I will love you until my very last breath, sweet girl. I pray you’re running free, tail high, heart light, somewhere beautiful — somewhere worthy of your goodness. There will never, ever be another you.
