“Innovation or Invasion" - a short about the environmental impact of generative AI

Those closest to me know how I feel towards this technology. This summer I wanted to make something that would best explain my detest for it. Most of us are fortunate enough to have people in our lives to ask our questions; I urge you to refer to them as opposed to using excessive amounts of water and energy. Do it for yourself and, perhaps more importantly, do it for your favorite place to be outside - your favorite lake, tree, creek, field, forest, ocean. Do it for our collective future as living beings. I wrote a Substack article with more information - link in my bio. Consider giving it a read.

I love the moon and the trees and the sky and the leaves
The brown and red but mostly the green
Yes, the green... those are the ones for me

Autumn is my favorite season and I'm content to be in it, but there's nothing better than lush green foliage.

This part of Bleed by George Clanton paired with this edit reminds me of my favorite lyric. It's from the song New Romance by Beach House and goes, "My love drips in red, out of my mind at the edge of the sky."

I'm always hesitant to film my family and friends for a number of reasons, one being I get uncomfortable in front of a camera and don't want to put them in that position. But the reality is I love these videos more than anything else I shoot. I have mostly explored landscape photography and videography but collaboration and human interaction are so vital to me. I'd like to push myself to capture more people and, in turn, the human experience - intimacy, vulnerability, imperfection, authenticity. It's so cathartic to reflect on these moments; it's so special to trace our mark on the world. We'll see if I keep my word with this. by @brsceness

In honor of the harvest moon, take time to reflect on and celebrate how far you've come and recognize the abundance in your life. I hope everyone got the chance to dance under last night's moonlight 😊 by @brsceness
