Nerd alert: Of course the music geeks know this – Alban Berg hides a folk tune inside his Violin Concerto “Dem Andenken eines Engels”. For everyone hearing the piece for the first time this week: listen closely in the first movement (Andante – Allegretto), where Berg weaves in the Carinthian folk song “Ein Vogel auf’m Zwetschgenbaum”, marked in the score simply as “Kärntner Volksweise”. (In this video, you can catch that moment around 00:20) It’s a fleeting, heartbreakingly beautiful moment – once you know it’s there, you’ll never un-hear it. 🎻✨ 16 & 17 October 2026 | Herkulessaal, Munich Isabelle Faust – violin Sir Simon Rattle Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (c) BR / Astrid Ackermann #brso #sirsimonrattle #isabellefaust #violin classicalmusic by @brsoacademy
Flat lay, orchestral edition. Seen from above, an orchestra in motion — bows moving in sync, individual gestures forming an almost choreographed rhythm. Watch the first violins in particular. I mean… wow. 😳💥 Stravinsky’s „Le Sacre du printemps“, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle at Teatro alla Scala, Milan.
