✨ Season 26/27 is here and it’s going to be a full one.

It opens in September with Handel’s Floridante at @bayreuth_baroque, staged by @maxcencic and conducted by @markellos.chryssicos where I’ll be singing the role of Timante.

From there, October brings me back to France for Uyaras at @operaderouen and in Dieppe, before heading to @concertgebouw in Amsterdam in June.

The Sopranisti concert tour will also take me to Bad Iburg, @artscenter.incheon in Seoul and @royalcastleinwarsaw in Warsaw.

December is particularly special, Scarlatti’s Cantata di Natale with @lesaccents and @thibaultnoally in Berlin at @berlinphil, Dortmund, and Paris at @theatre_champs_elysees, followed by Christmas Baroque with @dorothee_oberlinger and @ensemble1700 at @koelnerphilharmonie on Christmas Day 🎄

2027 brings Gluck’s La Clemenza di Tito at @teatrwkrakowie in Krakow with @jantomaszadamus and @capella_cracoviensis, before Floridante travels to @staatstheaterka in Karlsruhe.

Then spring arrives with Hasse’s Marc’Antonio e Cleopatra in Wroclaw with @wroclawbaroqueorchestra, Vivaldi’s La Griselda in Paris @theatre_champs_elysees and Madrid @cndm_inaem with @julienchauvinviolin and @leconcertdelaloge, Baroque Influencers with @dorothee_oberlinger and @ensemble1700 at @harpareykjavik, and The Two Faces of Love in Oviedo, Madrid at @cndm_inaem and Valencia at @lesartsvalencia 🇪🇸

💫 A short excerpt from Roma Travestita, my album released in 2022.
This performance was recorded in concert in Bayreuth, at the beautiful Margravial Opera House.

I’ll be ringing in the 31st with music at the Salve Musica Festival in Klaipėda.
The programme includes music by Leonardo Vinci, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Antonio Vivaldi, Nicola Porpora, and others.

🌊 Bachianas brasileiras No. 5 “Ária (Cantilena)”

One of the pieces closest to my heart on this album. Villa-Lobos at his most sublime, a wordless melody that rises like a call from the Amazonian river, somewhere between a lullaby and a spell. For me, it’s one of the beating hearts of UYARAS : The Enchanted Voice, and a track I couldn’t wait to share.

It’s everything this album is about : the voice as pure emotion, with no words needed, bridging classical and folk, Brazil and the baroque world I come from. 🇧🇷

„Uyaras: The enchanted voice“ is a musical exploration of Brazil’s fascinating mythology and a tribute to the phenomenon of the human voice itself. Bruno de Sá is accompanied by the Opéra Orchestre Normandie Rouen under the direction of Pierre Dumoussaud.

On Uyaras, Bruno de Sá presents 19th- and early 20th-century songs, arias, and vocalises, including works from his Brazilian homeland, such as Heitor Villa-Lobos’s global hit Bachianas brasileiras No. 5 and Alberto Nepomuceno’s mysterious, dramatic ballad As Uyaras.

Songs by George Gershwin (Lorelei) and Joseph Canteloube bridge the gap between South American folklore and European myths of water nymphs and sirens.

The album also features arias by Camille Saint-Saëns and Enrique Granados, famous vocalises by Maurice Ravel and Sergei Rachmaninoff, and the dazzling coloratura fireworks of Heinrich Proch’s Deh! Torna mio bene.
