The Mountain Island.
I’m back home after a few back to back photo workshops, and I finally had the chance to explore Pico a bit more with my friend Andrew.
For a long time I wanted to get to know the highlands better, where the endemic Laurisilva forest still grows, and I was honestly blown away by what we found.
A lot of people only know Fanal on Madeira, but what we have here on Pico is something else.
So many trees, so many compositions, spread over a huge area, with the bonus of having the highest mountain in Portugal as a backdrop. And cows. Lots of cows. They were clearly less impressed with me than I was with their backyard. 🐮😁
I will definitely be back next year with a few new workshops.

The magic of Corvo.
I don’t usually like soft light, especially after sunset. I’m more of a “golden light” person. 😎 But this time I wanted to try something different, something that captured the calm and stillness of the last hours of that incredible day.
What an amazing experience.

I don’t have words to describe how beautiful Sao Jorge Island was for me during my two day trip assignment.
I’ve always wanted to create these type of perspectives of the jagged cliffs of the northern Fajās with Pico mountain in the background. What an incredible view!
If you are interested, I’m working on a few new photo workshops for next year to this beautiful location.

The beauty of bad weather in the islands.
Being right in the middle of the Atlantic means dealing with some seriously unpredictable weather. A few weeks ago, a thick blanket of fog and low clouds rolled in, but the crazy part was that it mostly trapped the southern side of the island.
Driving through the interior was unreal. You could literally see a massive barrier of fog dissipating the second you headed north.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this shot to turn out this magical, but I am so glad I was there to catch it. Nature always finds a way to surprise us.
