In October we wear PINK 🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month starts today so let’s get aware! Did you know someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2 minutes and that 1 in 8 women will have invasive breast cancer in their lifetime? In honor of breast cancer awareness month, we will donate $1 for every Breast Cancer Canvas Tote sold throughout the month. by @brushedawaybanners
🎃 Halloween is just around the corner, and while it’s a season of fun and excitement for most of us, it can be a sensory overload for those kiddos on the spectrum, but that doesn’t mean they should or always want to miss out. Inclusion isn’t about canceling the fun—it’s about broadening the welcome mat a little bit. A couple simple ways you can make your home a safer, more accessible space this year: 1. Offer Non-Food Treats: Keep a bowl of stickers, glow sticks, or small toys handy (old toy cars = extra bonus points, iykyk). This supports individuals with dietary restrictions or those who use items for sensory regulation. 2. Practice Patience with Communication: Never force a child to say “trick-or-treat” or “thank you.” Many kids on the spectrum are non-verbal, minimally verbal, or lose their speech when overwhelmed. A smile and a piece of candy are all the interaction required! 🙏 Let’s build a community where everyone gets to participate at their own comfort level. #SensoryFriendlyHalloween #AutismAcceptance #NeurodiversityAffirming #InclusiveHalloween #SensoryOverload by @brushedawaybanners

Thank you to each and every one of you! 100 whole humans who think my page is worth their time 🥹 When I decided to go all in with this business 4 weeks ago, I was scared and doubting every single decision. At one point, when I was painting my first paid banner for someone outside of my friends and family. I got upset and yelled at myself that I’m not an artist and who did I think I was for charging someone money like I am. Then I stopped, took a breath and got myself back together. She absolutely LOVED the banner btw. In the past 4 weeks I’ve learned more and pushed myself further than I have before. So far I’m not making money, bc it takes money to make money as my husband keeps reminding me, but I am building a community and a system that’s all mine. For that, I can say I’m proud of myself for going outside my own comfort zone and pushing my limits. by @brushedawaybanners
Starting a new banner! Can you guess the theme? by @brushedawaybanners
The WHY behind BABS. In my past life before motherhood, I was a store manager at Charlotte Russe or as we called her, Charlotte. I grew up there, it’s where I learned my passion and drive for business. During her absolute PRIME era for us girlies to go get ready for date night, girls night, and just any occasion really. (*Fun fact- if you look closely in the BABS logo, you’ll see my old store number which I also have tattooed on my arm!) Fast forward ⏩ Recently, I had to take a leave of absence from my part time work to take care of our special needs son. There’s only 2 other people besides my husband and myself who can watch him safely, and when those people are experiencing medical issues of their own, you’re left with no other choice. His safety always comes first. So, after realizing my ability to work is always going to be impacted but my need for work as a driven, goal oriented human is always going to be strong. I decided to create BABS. Another friend you can go to for any and every occasion, but now in a different era of our life. ✨ Adulthood & Parenthood✨ BABS is simple. She flexible, she’s driven, she’s down to party. So don’t forget her the next time you’re planning something FUN! by @brushedawaybanners
