The Lonely Watch
The Broken Country
Beyond the Southern Zone, the settlements grow smaller and the roads grow less certain.

At an isolated outpost, a lone sentry keeps watch as evening settles over the Broken Country. There are no patrols to relieve him, no reinforcements waiting just over the hill. Only two small buildings, a weathered fence, and the long shadows of the wilderness beyond.

Out here, a light in the window means someone is still holding on.
And a sentry on watch means they intend to keep it that way.

Toybox War Chronicles: With the Border Brigand crisis worsening, and the SZV spread thin, Takeda makes a reluctant decision, Takeda needs to find one or more of the Border Brigands hidden camps, and take the fight to them. Cal Rourke is a veteran mercenary, neither SZV nor Brigand. He operates independently in the outer ruins and knows territory that regular military patrols don't. Commander Kenji Takeda needs him.

Toybox War Chronicles: Ongoing debate at the Council of Presidents has created three lines of thought on how to address the problem of The Border Brigands. Option #1: A deliberate military campaign: secure the threatened areas, protect civilians, establish reliable patrols, then systematically eliminate Brigand strongholds.
Option #2: Find out who is supplying the Brigands, buying their stolen goods, and providing information.
Option #3: Establish mobile columns, intelligence gathering, and aggressive pursuit when the Brigands expose themselves. by @brutorzbill

Toybox War Chronicles: Historically, the Border Brigands have been more of a minor threat to The Southern Zone. Originally, a unit of deserters from the constant wars to the north. They tended to limit themselves to minor raids on small towns and tiny groups. Recently, however, their raids have become more precise and targeted, threatening supply lines and commerce throughout the region. Striking with precision and speed that has caught everyone off guard. What has caised the change, and how do they seem to know when and where to strike to achieve maximum results?
