❤️🏀 SOME OF THE BEST TEAMS START AT HOME.

Two of our favorite people, Bryan Dickerson and Erin Dickerson Davis, stopped by the Sportslifetalk mic for a conversation that reminded us what this game is really about.

Sure, basketball was part of the discussion—but family was the headline.

Erin shared how she and her dad have always been there for one another, celebrating the victories and helping each other through the tough losses. That’s a bond every athlete hopes to have.

When I first started playing basketball, he asked me a simple question: “Do you wanna play… or do you wanna be the best?”

My 5th-grade answer was easy: “I wanna be the best.”

And every time I hit a wall — high school, college, coaching — he’d remind me: “If you’re cool being okay, keep doing what you’re doing. But if you want to be the best, you gotta do what the best do.”

The other lesson? Even simpler: stop being a punk. No whining. No complaining. Vent for a second, then solve the problem.

It was frustrating back then — but it shaped everything. That mindset stays with me in every part of my life.
