My son’s very cool Godzilla/ King Kong shelf. I helped him out with the setup, but the layout was all him. He also came up with the idea of having the monster truck jumping through the air. 🤘 by @bryant_3b

Finishing out my Best of 2025 series. My pick for Toy of the Year is the HasLab Ghostbusters Plasma Series deluxe Ectomobile!

I was collecting Mattel’s Ghostbusters line as it was being released 15+ years ago and signed for their proposed Ecto-1 vehicle. Unfortunately that failed and the line ended without a ride for our favorite paranormal eliminators. But in 2024 Hasbro launched the Ectomobile to complement their line of 6” movie figures (and coincidentally the previous Mattel line).

There was no way I wasn’t going to back this and thankfully it delivered. It’s not without its problems, but the good far outweighs the bad here and it is the perfect centerpiece to GB collection.

Honorable mention goes to the Transformers Studio Series 86 Devastator, sold as separate releases. That’s the only reason I didn’t pick it as the top TOTY. It should have had a box set release, but it still managed to deliver a fantastic version of my all time favorite Decepticon. Transformers was also my favorite toyline of 2025. Most of my purchases last year were either Age of the Primes or Studio Series and they did not disappoint.

Next up will be my wishes for 2026! Lots of great stuff already in the pipeline, but there are always things on my wishlist. Let’s see which will actually become reality this year. by @bryant_3b

Happy New Year!

I’m trying to finish up my Best of 2025 picks this week. Up next is GIJOE Classified Series!

My favorite new addition this year is the duo of Law & Order! Far from one of my favorite Joe characters, but this set turned out great. And who doesn’t love a canine action figure. Honorable mention goes to Breaker 2.0 with his sweet comms gear and alternate bubble-blowing head!

Best of 2025: Wrestling figures!

My favorite wrestling action figure of the year just made it in under the wire! It’s the Mattel WWE Ultimate Edition “Monday Night War” Kurt Angle! Initially I thought I’d skip this one after the phenomenal Legends release last year, but seeing the promo pics and finally running into it in person, I couldn’t pass it up! Maybe the best Angle, yet.

Honorable mention goes to RSC’s Unsanctioned Demolition 2pk. I was so impressed by these, I decided to go back and pick up their Road Warriors set. I’m really looking forward to see who else they bring to the line in 2026.

Best of 2025: Action Force by Valaverse

My favorite AF figure this year was the Special Ops version of the Steel Brigade trooper. Awesome new sculpt, gear and a flashy vac-metal head! I ended up with three of these bad boys and it took the top spot for my favorite AF overall.

Honorable mention goes to the Praetorian Fury who featured a great redeco and loaded with accessories!

I’m very much looking forward to what Valaverse will do in 2026 with the debut of The Black! by @bryant_3b

Best of 2025 continues with my favorite comic-based action figure pickup this year.

That distinction goes to the Medicom MAFEX DC Scarecrow figure from the Batman: Hush storyline. The sculpt on this guy is absolutely wicked! He included three swappable heads and a bunch of hands. A great looking figure that I feel slew under the radar this year.

Honorable mention goes to the Mezco One12 Dick Tracy villain the Blank. Awesome clothing and a great assortment of weaponry.

The most surprising thing about my 2025 comic figure purchases was that most of them are from premium and import lines. I only had one Marvel Legends (Savageland Prof. X) and two Super Powers purchases. The rest of my domestic, general release items were one offs from other lines.

2026 will surely be an interesting time with the main DC license returning to Mattel. Will they resurrect their seminal Classics line in 6” or have the superhero universe join their other mainline figures like MOTU & WWE in the 7” scale?

My best action figures of 2025 picks continue today with my favorite Transformers!

2025 was a huge year for Transformers and it is the series I collected the most of this year. My pick of the top bot is the Studio Series ‘86 Megatron. What a fantastic update to the G1 villain which includes a fun conversion process and a respectable alternate mode. I couldn’t wait for this release and was very pleased once it arrived.

Honorable mention goes to Legacy Menasor/ Stunticons box set. I picked this one over Devastator (my favorite of all the combiners) because it was one release with all the components packed together. Yes, it’s a repackage of previously released figures, but he’s new to me. by @bryant_3b

My pick for best cartoon-based action figure of 2025: Mondo’s The Real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman!

Most of the toon figures I picked up this year came from Mondo RGB or NECA’s TMNT lines. But my favorite had to be Peter. He’s my favorite Ghostbuster and the RGB line is one I’ve waited DECADES for.

Honorable mention goes to Dark Leonardo who never appeared in the TMNT cartoon, but was specifically created for the current comic based on th original Fred Wolf series. He is a wonderful addition to the line.

Other cartoon figures purchased this year included Jada’s Scooby-Doo series, their fun Frosty the Snowman and Dekkion from the Dungeons & Dragons line by Super7.
