Where the waves meet the mountains, I’m reminded of how beautiful the work of His hands can be. And then I look beside me.

Standing in awe of the God who made all of this, feeling so thankful that He has been at work in our story, too. For the ways He brought us together, the grace we’ve found along the way, and the love we get to keep growing in.

Less than 200 days until the Fishers!

This summer looked different.

For the first time in several years, I did not spend my summer in an office or working in policy. Instead, I went to camp.

It was different from anything I had done before, but the Lord kept teaching me the same truth in a hundred different ways: I was never meant to do any of this apart from Him.

He met me in the dish pit and showed me that even the most ordinary work can become worship. He met me in a cabin full of boys and exposed how quickly I look to people for the approval only He can give. He met me in my weakness and reminded me that dependence is not a failure of the Christian life. Dependence is the Christian life.

He reminded me that before I am useful, impressive, successful, liked, or needed, I am already chosen, freed, forgiven, and deeply loved. He gave me friends who did not just know what I was doing, but cared about how I was doing. He taught me to slow down long enough to notice His goodness in sunsets, conversations, laughter, hard days, and even a blue heron named Harold.

Camp did not make me stronger because I finally learned how to hold everything together. It made me stronger because, over and over again, the Lord showed me that I do not have to.

I am not the vine. I am a branch.

What a gift it was to spend a summer learning to abide, serve, depend, and worship.

So thankful the Lord called me to Pine Cove Towers! Walking into this summer expectant for all He has in store, learning daily dependence on Him, growing in humility, abundance of Joy, and getting the opportunity to share the Gospel with campers.

Write me! And prayers up for the Gospel to be proclaimed this summer at The Towers!

Faithfully becoming.

More and more into who He’s called me to be. Grateful for the people who sharpen me, walk beside me, and remind me who I am when I forget. All of it by His grace.
