I was going through some old negatives and found a roll from my very first assignment at Brooks. I figured I’d reprint it just for the fun of it. The negative is grossly overexposed, but I still like the results. by @bryceolsenphotography

An image I made of the Bear River Bird Refuge near the Great Salt Lake. Areas like this are under direct threat because of a large AI data center that is trying to gain approval to be constructed not far from here. This data center will suck up over 12 million gallons of water annually, while the governor of Utah @govcox declared a state of extreme drought across the majority of our state. This is a critical migratory and nesting area for tens of thousands of birds and an essential part of the state’s ecosystem. I encourage all Utahns to protest the construction of this data center and put the focus on maintaining a healthy and thriving ecosystem for the wildlife that calls this place home. by @bryceolsenphotography
