We drove up to the top of a mountain in the Oregon Coastal range, hoping to hike to Baby Foot Lake in the morning, HOWEVER!! We hardly slept because SOMETHING LARGE decided to sleep outside our camper all night and breath heavily and was not afraid of us when we made the truck alarm go off to try to scare it away. So we did not sleep… any ideas what would sniff around our truck camper all night but not attack us? Sounded big and heavy but was not skiddish at all…

Needless to say we got out of there as quick as possible as soon as the sun was up. by @bryceworth2

Bend has this quiet way of grounding you—especially in the middle of a hectic week.

Work will always have its ups and downs. Plans change, projects shift, and sometimes things just don’t go the way you hoped. But the beauty of living here is that even when things feel overwhelming, you don’t have to go far to reset.

A short drive to Smith Rock, where a hike up Misery Ridge and a climb up Monkey Face clears your head fast. A few quiet laps on the mountain, surfing the river wave downtown, and walking to the neighbors for a backyard fire—it all adds up to something bigger.

There’s a rhythm to life here that slows you down in the best way. You’re reminded to breathe, to look up, and to appreciate the people and places around you. It’s not about the hustle every single day—it’s about building something that lets you enjoy where you are and who you’re with.

This week reminded me of that. Bend continues to be more than just a backdrop for my work—it’s the reason behind it. The mountains, the water, the friendships, the pace… they all make the hard days worth it.

Not every week will be perfect. But if you’re lucky enough to live here, even the imperfect ones still feel full.
