You wore savior like a costume,
White armor, paper thin.
Everytime someone cried,
You turned it into a sermon about your pain.
You fed on pity,
Drank it like water,
And called yourself holy for surviving the thirst.
You built disaster you could fix,
Called it empathy,
But yet waited for the applause.
You said love was sacrifice,
But the only blood ever spilled was someone else’s.
You left a mess and called it meaning.
You hid behind your trembling hands and called it bravery.
And I hate you for it-The show, The guilt, The lies,
The way you wear your hurt like a halo.
But lately the inks been running different, Famıliar.
I trace my outline in your reflection And I feel sick.
Maybe that’s just how it is
The same armor, different shine,
Same rot underneath.
I told myself I was different-I was better.
That I bled for beauty, not attention, That my pain was different, more pure.
But rot doesn’t care what color you paint it.
Spilled blood is still spilled blood.
You’re a coward.
And maybe I am too.

For those of you who know my story, you know how much tonight meant to me.
(Sorry no memes this time)

I’ve followed SkyDxddy since her early days. Hearing her live hit a place I didn’t know still needed to be seen.

October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month made it heavier, too. There was a time when I couldn’t have walked into a room like that without feeling small or unsafe. Now I can stand there, sing along, and feel again, not just exist.

Her music helped me find language for things I used to bury. It reminded me that surviving isn’t about pretending it didn’t happen, it’s about reclaiming the parts of yourself that you thought were gone.

Tonight was that. A little bit of grief, a little bit of freedom, and a lot of quiet pride.
