If you know her, you instantly love her. But to know her, is to be loved by her. Val was the type of person to make you laugh at your hardest points, always be there for you no matter what, and give you advice you need to hear. Val was an amazing person so i want to share about her.

i met Val through Brody and instantly i thought we clicked. Anytime she would come over i would always bicker with Brody about who could hang out with her from wanting to talk about life, to singing and dancing in the kitchen. I’ve met so many people through Brody but by far Val was always my favorite. Val always made me feel included when i would 3rd wheel her and Brody, and just as i grew older, her and i grew closer.

As Val got closer with my family she became more than just my brother’s girlfriend, she became part of our family. She’d show up to every birthday, every one of his games, every random movie night like she truly belonged there because she did. She had this way of bringing light into any room, even making the quietest person feel seen.

Val made Brody so happy. I’d never seen him smile or laugh the way he did when she was around. They’d always be joking around or doing something goofy together, and it just made our whole house feel lighter. Even when they were just watching movies or cooking, they had this connection that everyone noticed.

Val wasn’t just loved by us she was loved by everyone who knew her. Her friends always talk about how funny she was, and the one to make you feel so special. And her family, they raised someone truly amazing. You could see how close they all were, and how much she cared about them.

The love she gave is still everywhere in her family, her friends, and especially in Brody. Val will always be remembered for the way she made people feel so loved, included, her joyful personality, and most importantly never alone.

So I ask everyone keep the Caven family and Val’s friends in your thoughts and prayers. I hope they all feel surrounded by love and comfort during this time.
