One final Preference Round 🌹

There's a reason it's my favorite round, and it's simply because it's one of the most vulnerable moments for AOII. But it sums our chapter up in the best way. We show up, support, and love each other in the most genuine way ♥️ taken in AOII Kappa Alpha by @brynn.ogsbury

Here is the dance itself!

This dance was never just a dance.

Every step this week was for two people who shaped me into who I am today: my Grandpa Rick and Miss Wanda. My talent became a way to honor their lives, their impact, and the lessons they left behind.

But what makes this story even more special is the costume.

While I was in Ecuador serving with Timmy Global Health, my mom came across a costume on Facebook that immediately reminded us of my vision for this dance. We reached out, and only after expressing interest did we learn the incredible story behind it. The costume was being sold to support a young dancer battling leukemia.

What we also discovered was that the costume had already been part of the Miss America Opportunity, just on the other side of the country. Somehow, after traveling through the dance world and a pageant organization, it found its way to me at exactly the right time.

I don't believe that's a coincidence.

This costume carries pieces of so many stories, and this week I had the honor of adding Grandpa Rick's and Miss Wanda's to it. 🤍

On Wednesday, I stopped by the Jan McCarthy Early Childhood Education Center and had an amazing time interacting with the kids. They were so sweet and even created a cute sign just for me 🥰

Moments like these remind me that there is always going to be someone looking up to me, and it was the biggest source of encouragement as Miss Indiana gets closer! by @brynn.ogsbury
