What to read if you liked....

The Poppy War by RF Kuang!

For those of you who don't know, I work at a library! So I'm pretty used to doing what's known as Reader's Advisory. Basically, suggesting books not just based off plot, but also pacing, tone, writing style, characterization, etc. It's honestly a lot of fun and also a great skill to have when it comes to considering comp titles. If you're curious to learn about how I do this, let me know! I don't keep secrets 😉

Besides other books I have planned for this sort of Reader's Advisory series, what books are you interested in getting recommendations for? 😌📖

Is this just an excuse to get you to read some of my favorite (and my friends' favorite) fantasy novels? 😨

Yes, it is. 😌

I tried to keep my list of titles well known but honestly, I really wanted to shout out some of my favorites that I don't see get enough love and attention. So if you don't recognize your birth month, this is me saying you should go borrow it from your local library 😉

I'm thinking of doing a Zodiac based version but I need more ideas. 😰 So please let me know any book recommendations you have and I'll check it out. Like always, let me know what book you got (cuz I'm nosy 🙂‍↕️).

Welcome welcome welcome! 🤗

I'm so excited to have so many new people viewing my page recently. So I thought I'd say hello! 🩷

I'm Bry and I'm here to be your bookish bestie. We'll talk all things books, writing, and publishing. OH and whimsy. Can't forget the whimsy 😼

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I'm a HUGE fantasy and YA nerd. One of my favorite series is The Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale. I grew up reading Percy Jackson and The Princess Academy. What's your go to genre and favorite childhood book? Let me know, I'm nosy 🤭

Part 2 to yesterday's video!

Let me know how you like the trope you got. My personal favorite is doomed lovers. I have a love/hate relationship with tragedy. Like a moth to a flame 🙈💔

Any ideas for tropes to be included next time? People seemed to like this kind of video so maybe I'll do more with things like zodiac signs. Thoughts?

Assigning you a book trope based off your birth month!! Don't come for me if you don't like the tropes I used 🙈 I tried to pick some of my favorites.

Let me know what tropes you want to see in the next one! Maybe I'll include them 🤭😌

No one comment on my hair I woke up late and rushed making this before work 😔💔

Correction, I wrote FOUR words today 😌

Okay but writers block is such an issue. I swear I'm always working around it and pushing through it. One thing I've started doing to keep writing even when it hits is to skip through a scene, leaving a pair of brackets and a description of what happens. That way I'm not hung up on a scene for too long.

Their books took over my soul, and so did they.

Yes, it's all fantasy and YA fantasy. It's my favorite genre and you can pry it from my cold dead hands! But these girls are some of my favorite FMCs. I never see anyone talking about Bree, Enna, or Xingyin so hopefully this reaches anyone who loves the books they're from. And if you don't know who they are, maybe this'll inspire you to read their books 🙈❤️

Alina Starkov from Shadow and Bone
Bree Matthews from Legendborn
Enna from Enna Burning
Xingyin from Daughter of the Moon Goddess
Nina Zenik from Six of Crows
