I ran a bloody marathon!! 🥹🏅

Okay, I promise I’ll stop going on about this soon (maybe), but I genuinely can’t explain the overwhelming emotion I felt crossing that finish line.

Marathon training has been one of the most mentally draining, physically challenging (hello scoliosis, goodbye toenails) but equally rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’ve been asked before if I even like running- the answer is not always, but I do it because it proves to me I’m capable of doing hard things even if they seem impossible.

As someone who’s naturally pretty self-critical and not always great at giving myself credit, it feels quite nice to say that I’m genuinely proud of myself. Not just for the marathon or the time, but for all the months of hard work, consistency and determination that went into getting there. It’s a feeling and a moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

And finally, a massive thank you to my wonderful family and friends for putting up with months of boring marathon chat and cheering me on every step of the way (literally- your voicenotes got me through 33-38k)I really am the luckiest💕☁️✨

Seeing as you all loved this on stories… here’s a gentle reminder that for every polished ad you see, there’s a grown woman somewhere doing the same walk down the cereal aisle 14 times while someone’s nan waits patiently to get to the Weetabix x
